Abstract

Plasticizers for P.V.C. have the formula <FORM:1097396/C3/1> in which R is C4-C15 alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, RI-IV are alkyl or hydrogen, RV is defined as R or is <FORM:1097396/C3/2> in which RVI is C4-C15 alkyl and RVII and RVIII are hydrogen, methyl or ethyl; alkyl and aryl include aralkyl and alkaryl. The P.V.C. is a homopolymer or a copolymer with vinyl acetate. There may also be present white lead and calcium stearate and as antioxidant bis- or tris-(hydroxyphenyl) propane.
