A paper or thermo-plastic carrier bag has moulded or extruded plastics handles 1, the ends 4 of which are equal to or wider than the width of the gripping part of the handle, and the ends are heat fixed to the bag walls. The ends may be covered with paper patches. The handle may be in the form of a strip, of solid circular crosssection or of a strip wound into a helix. Specification 1,003,100 is referred to.
