Abstract

1,003,730. Cigarette cartons. J. W. CHALMERS, and MOLINS ORGANISATION Ltd. April 13, 1964 [April 26, 1963], No. 16542/63. Headings B8C and B8P. A sheet 1 whichis to be folded to form a carton (Fig. 1) has a strip of material 2 attached to an edge 3 (Fig. 2) the strip forming an incomplete top 12 to the carton. The strip is preferably of contrasting appearance and if duplex laminated paper is used for the sheet 1, the strip 2 may be of similar material the other way up. A closure strip 13 may be placed over the top 12 and a detachable cap 14 (Fig. 2) made from a blank 15 (Fig. 1), fitted over the package. The sheet may be made of paper, foil, sheet plastics or plastics impregnated paper and the strip adhered to it by adhesive, heat sealing or ultrasonically. Specification 1,000,443 is referred to.
