Abstract

[Also in Division B5] A liquid-tight carton lined with thermoplastics film material has all its interior seams formed so that they are impervious, and has all cut edges densely compacted to resist normal propensity for wicking absorption. The carton is made from two blanks 4 and 27 arranged in a cross-formation, the edges of the blanks being cut and compacted simultaneously. A dispensing end closure is formed, having an opening in the central panel 5 of the blank 4 and a corresponding portion of the panel 28 of the blank 27 being bounded on two sides by perforations 39, and is operable by a flap 40, as in Fig. 11. The opening may be rectangular or oval. When erected, the flaps 33 on the blank 27 lie against and are adhered to the external surfaces of the panels 8 of the blank 4. The panels 5 and 28 are provided with a pattern of clear lacquer to facilitate opening the carton.
