Abstract

1,002,633. Vehicle trains; transporting special loads. H. P. WYNN. Jan. 22, 1964 [Jan. 24, 1963], No. 2965/63. Headings B7B, B7D and B7H. A road vehicle comprises a pair of load bearing longitudinal members 2 and 3 articulated to a pair of bogies 11, each articulation pin 9 being carried by a transverse member 8 which is connected to the longitudinal members by means of pivoted links 12 and 13. A pair of hydraulic rams 14 and 15 is dispersed between the links 12 and 13 and the transverse members 8 at each end whereby, by expansion and contraction of the rams, the distance apart of the longitudinal members 2 and 3 may be varied. Cross brace members 4, 5 and 60, with arrangements for varying their lengths, are provided. A road train may be made up of the vehicles, in which one bogey may be driven.
