Abstract

100,224. Rohm, O. March 29, 1915, [Convention date]. Bleaching, processes and materials for.-Raw cotton is treated with a solution of pancreatic enzymes, papayotin, vicinus ferment, or other enzyme, to remove fatty, waxy, and pectic substances, preparatory to bleaching. The treatment may be carried out in acid, neutral, or alkaline solutions, and salts which assist the enzyme action may be added.
