Abstract
1,002,125. Gymnasium apparatus. H. CARR, and R. V. CARR, [trading as CARR GYMNASIUM EQUIPMENT]. Nov. 20, 1961 [NOV. 19, 1960; March 23,1961], Nos. 39860/60 and 10573/61. Heading A6M. A combined post and trestle structure, for gymnastics uses comprises a collapsible trestlelike support, at least one post displaceably attached to the support and releasably bracing means adapted alternatively to brace the post to the support in erection of the structure and allow collapse of the structure. Two ladder like frames 29, 33 pivot on a top hinge 30. The hinge has end extensions which mount two upright posts 36, 37 with holes 36a, 37a for longitudinal bars. The lower ends of the posts are connected to the ends of a central rod 40 which is releasably connected by frames 38, 39 pivoting on rungs 32, 35 on the frames 29, 33. The structure is collapsed by disengaging the bracing frames from the rod 40 and pivoting the frames together. The structure may be secured to the floor by devices 41, 42 pivoting on the base rungs and secured by a screw 46 movable in a slot in an arm 43, and engaging in a screw nut fitting in the floor. The end of each arm has a rubber flow engaging pad 44. Specification 933,812 is referred to.
