Abstract

An electrode for use in fuel cells (see Division H1) comprises an alkali and/or acid resistant skeleton material and a Raney catalyst comprising a mixture of two or more platinum metals, i.e. platinum, palladium, rhodium, osmium, iridium or ruthenium. The skeleton material is gold, graphite or tantalum, or a wire netting of gold, silver, nickel or chromium-nickel steel, or a synthetic resin rendered conductive by metal deposition. Specifications 606,348 and 806,644 are referred to.
