Abstract

1,000,586. Clutch control. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. June 12, 1964 [June 26, 1963], No. 25338/63. Heading F2L. A clutch release lever 5 which engages the operating collar 3 at transversely spaced points through a C-shaped intermediate member 31 is capable of rocking about a vertical axis B-B perpendicular to the pivoting axis A-A so that the resultant force acting on the lever passes substantially through the axis of the collar. In the arrangement shown the lever 5 bears against a washer 39 held in position by a locating pin 41 engaging a boss 35 on the clutch casing, the washer 39 engaging an intermediate member 37 with vertical ribs 51, 53 and about whose edges the washer may rock. In a second arrangement, Fig. 6 (not shown), the washer rolls around the surface of a vertical circularsection pin passing through the pin 41. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 888,336.
