Abstract

The invention relates to a device for applying a cosmetic composition to the scalp of an individual, comprising in particular a light source capable of emitting light in a wavelength spectrum of between 620 and 625 nm, a motor allowing microvibrations to be created, a reservoir for a cosmetic composition, and teeth allowing the release of said cosmetic composition. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a cosmetic method for caring for the scalp of an individual implemented by the device according to the invention, and a kit comprising said device and a cosmetic composition.

Description

Cosmetic composition applicator for the scalp

The invention relates to a device for applying a cosmetic composition to the scalp of an individual, comprising in particular a light source capable of emitting light in a wavelength spectrum of between 620 and 625 nm, a motor allowing microvibrations to be created, a reservoir for a cosmetic composition, and teeth allowing the release of said cosmetic composition. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a cosmetic method for caring for the scalp of an individual implemented by the device according to the invention, and a kit comprising said device and a cosmetic composition.

The field of the invention concerns in particular that of devices and methods allowing the non-therapeutic care of the scalp of an individual.

Prior Art

Today, a healthy-looking scalp and hair are signs of good health and contribute to an attractive appearance for both women and men.

Hair can be damaged by various environmental sources and by chemical treatments. They protect the scalp from sunburn and mechanical attack, and in particular ensure thermoregulation (Robbins C.R. 2012 - Chemical and Physical Behavior of Human Hair, 4th ed. Springer-Verlag: Heidelberg, Germany).

Hair disorders are primarily caused by variations in hair follicle density, as well as size and/or changes in hair growth cycles. These disorders have a dramatic impact on quality of life and emotional well-being (Cash T.F. 1999 - Br. J. Dermatol. 141: 398-405; Schmidt S. et al. 2001- Br. J. Dermatol. 144: 1038–1043). This can result in a lack of self-respect and poor body image.

In particular, baldness is a societal problem for most people, men or women, regardless of age. It is also often accompanied by mental disorders and feelings that are difficult to bear, such as unattractiveness and aging. This syndrome is complex, depends on many factors and, moreover, the psychological complications are enormous.

Hair loss is a natural process, where each hair follicle must be recycled to produce new hair. Unnatural hair loss is primarily due to hormonal imbalance of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), inadequate blood flow to the head or root of the hair, and decreased oxygen and nutrients to the scalp. hair of the head.

Cosmetic solutions currently on the market are often disappointing. Indeed, they are restrictive, unpleasant, and rarely effective, which leads to the user abandoning treatment in the vast majority of cases.

Definitions

By “teeth” are meant the parallel rods classically constituting a comb used for hair. These can have varying sizes, lengths and thicknesses, and are usually used to put hair in order. Here, in the context of the invention, said teeth also allow the release of a cosmetic composition, due to their hollow cylindrical constitution connected to a reservoir.

By “microvibrations” is meant, according to the present invention, vibrations having a frequency of 10,000 rpm/minute, or approximately 167 Hz.

By “hair renewal” is meant the prevention and/or non-therapeutic reduction of hair loss and baldness disorders and thus acting for the regeneration of hair in a natural way. This hair treatment allows you to quickly and naturally find visibly denser hair.

By “micro-diffusion” is meant according to the invention that the cosmetic composition is diffused in a precise and progressive manner by the teeth of the device according to the invention for perfect impregnation of the scalp, where it is needed.

By “application device” is meant according to the invention a device making it possible to topically administer a cosmetic composition to a targeted area of the skin or scalp, and thus allowing its correct application.

By “scalp” is meant according to the invention the skin which covers the skull on which the hair grows. In the context of the invention, the scalp includes the hair.

By “light source” is meant a means making it possible to emit light at a determined wavelength. Said means can for example be a light-emitting diode.

“Light-emitting diodes” or “LEDs” are electronic components which, when passed through by an electric current, emit low-frequency light. They emit a light that is considered cold because it does not produce heat. This characteristic is due to an absence of resistance present in other bulbs. LEDs fall into the category of LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy). They have the advantage of being inexpensive compared to lasers or flash lamps and, due to their lower light intensity, do not present the danger of burns or other injuries to the skin if exposure is not correctly carried out. Light-emitting diodes emit light in a spectrum that extends from visible to infrared.

By “wavelength spectrum between 620 and 625 nm, preferably 625 nm” is meant light corresponding to red light.

By “reservoir” is meant according to the invention a reservoir making it possible to accommodate and store the cosmetic composition in the device according to the invention.

By “lid” is meant a means making it possible to close the reservoir, so that the cosmetic composition cannot escape from the reservoir through the entry point of the composition.

By “a switch allowing the opening of the orifices of said teeth (3)” is meant a means making it possible to open holes present on said teeth, preferably made of metal, so that the cosmetic composition in liquid form can be released from said reservoir towards teeth and towards the user's scalp.

By “level indicator” is meant a visual means making it possible to know the quantity of cosmetic composition remaining in the device according to the invention.

By “switch allowing the device to be turned on or off” is understood according to the invention a means allowing the device according to the invention to be turned on and off as a whole.

By “cover for protecting the teeth of the application device” is meant a means making it possible to cover the teeth of the device according to the invention so that they are no longer visible and accessible.

By “step of exposure to a light source” is meant that the area of the skin targeted, in this case the scalp, is directly exposed to the desired light radiation, by approaching the light source as close as possible to said area of the targeted skin.

By “determined period” is meant a duration of time fixed by the device or the user, during which the different steps of the method are carried out by the device according to the invention.

Detailed description of the invention

According to one embodiment of the invention, the application device (1) according to the invention is switched on by the user using a switch (9) of the device visible in particular in Figures 1 to 3.

The user can remove the protective cover from the teeth of the device (10), visible in Figures 2 and 3, in order to make the teeth (3, 4) accessible.

Then, the user places the application device (1) on the scalp, as illustrated in , and presses the liquid outlet switch (6), while sliding it moderately on the scalp, in particular while brushing the hair, so that the liquid is applied regularly, for example on sparse areas of the scalp .

At the same time, the light sources (2) visible on the expose the scalp to red lights, and the device (1) vibrates using the included motor, in order to produce microvibrations for the scalp.

The motor producing the microvibrations is not visible in the figures because it is positioned inside the device (1) according to the invention.

Once the use cycle, preferably 3 minutes, is over, the user can press the switch (9) of the device to turn it off.

In order to protect the teeth (3, 4), the user can close the cover (10) as visible in Figures 2 and 3.

According to one embodiment, in order to fill the device (1) according to the invention, the user removes the cover (7) from the reservoir (5), visible in Figures 1 to 3 in particular.

As illustrated on the , the user can use a pipette (12) (or alternatively introduce directly from the neck of the composition container) to introduce the cosmetic composition (13) into the reservoir (5).

Once the composition (13) has been introduced, the user aligns the cover (7) with the mouth of the reservoir (5) and presses to close the reservoir (5).

The user can constantly monitor the level of cosmetic composition (13) remaining in the reservoir using the level indicator (8), as visible in Figures 1 to 4.

According to one embodiment, when the user wants to clean the device (1) according to the invention, it uses the same filling process explained above, but by replacing the composition (13) with water or of the cleaning solution.

In addition, the user can leave the cover (7) of the tank (5) open and gently shake the device in order to rinse all of the walls of the tank (5).

Concerning the teeth (3, 4), these can be cleaned using water or cleaning solution directly applied to them.

The device (1) according to the invention can, according to one embodiment, be charged using a USB port (11) visible on the , in order to charge the battery included in the body of the device (1).

Examples

Example 1: Test effectiveness of the device and the method according to the invention:

The method according to the invention is used for 4 months, morning and evening, using the device according to the invention.

30 subjects having thinning portions of hair on the scalp receive the method according to the invention with the cosmetic composition according to the invention, and 30 similar subjects receive the method according to the invention with a placebo composition.

The application of these steps and of the composition is carried out by passing over the scalp and brushing the hair using the device according to the invention, in particular on sparse areas.

Results

The results obtained for the two groups demonstrate greater effectiveness for the group having received the composition to promote hair renewal according to the invention.

Indeed, hair density is increased, hair loss is reduced, and hair growth increased. These measurements are carried out by trichogram analysis. A visual illustration of this improvement linked to the composition applied according to the method according to the invention thanks to the device according to the invention is found in , where an increased density is visible in Figure 6B which is a photo of an individual who undergoes the method according to the invention, compared to Figure 6A which dates from before the application of the method according to the invention.

Claims (9)

Device (1) for applying a cosmetic composition (13) to the scalp of an individual, characterized in that it comprises:

• a light source (2) capable of emitting light in a wavelength spectrum between 620 and 625 nm, preferably 625 nm, said light source (2) being positioned so as to expose the scalp to said light ;

Non-therapeutic cosmetic method for caring for the scalp of an individual implemented by the device (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises concomitantly and for a determined period the following steps :

• a step of exposure to a light source (2) in a wavelength spectrum of between 620 and 625 nm, preferably 625 nm;
• a step of exposing said area of the skin to be treated to micro-vibrations;
• a step of releasing by micro-diffusion a cosmetic composition (13) for scalp care.

Non-therapeutic cosmetic process for caring for the scalp of an individual according to the preceding claim, where said determined period has a duration of 30 seconds to 10 minutes, preferably between 1 and 5 minutes, even more preferably 3 minutes. Kit including:

• A device (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 5;
• A cosmetic composition (13) for caring for an individual's scalp, preferably a non-therapeutic cosmetic composition to promote hair renewal.

Use of the device (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 5, for applying a scalp care composition.
