Abstract

Tool for replacing a roof tile remotely. The invention relates to a tool to be attached to a telescopic pole for replacing the tiles of a roof remotely allowing rapid replacement and above all avoiding the risk of falls, the operator not climbing on a roof ladder. It is made up of a flat plate (1) where the tile (3) is placed, spring clips (4) to hold it, two curved pivoting tabs (5) to fold over the tile (3) guiding the whole tile tool in the location of the tile to be replaced, wheels (6) to facilitate advancement and tilting and a curved handle (7) allowing tilting which causes the lug of the tile (3) to pass to the above the batten. The present invention relates to a tool for replacing a broken or missing flat tile (see adaptation for other tiles) without having to climb onto the roof with a roof ladder. To do this, the tool is attached to a telescopic pole, adjustable or not, allowing it to be used from the bottom of the roof to the top.

Tile replacement is usually accomplished by handling the tiles by hand. As soon as the tiles are inaccessible the operator must move from a ladder placed on the wall to a roof ladder, which can be tedious and particularly dangerous.

The tool according to the invention allows the replacement of the tile remotely. This has several advantages, saving time by eliminating the installation of a roof ladder and above all avoiding the risk of falls since there is no longer any need to climb onto the roof. It is made up of a flat plate, with possible anti-slip on its upper part, which will support the tile, spring clamps which will hold it at its lower end, two pivoting tabs, wheels and a curved handle to allow it to be to tip over.

With reference to these different figures, the tool allows two main possible actions, either removing a damaged tile or inserting a new tile in the empty location.

First of all, you most often have to remove a broken tile. In this case, one or both pivoting tabs (5) can be folded on the side of the handle (7), their use not necessarily being necessary. The tool clipped to the pole is inserted under the piece of broken tile. To remove it, you must tilt the broken tile tool assembly, the wheels (6) and the curved handle (7) assisting this movement. This tilting lifts the tile (3) allowing its lug to pass above the batten as shown in . Then simply bring everything towards you to recover the damaged tile.

The second thing to do or the first if the tile is simply missing is to put a new tile in the empty slot. On the tool, the replacement tile (3) lies flat on the plate (1) and under the spring clips (4) which hold it. Then the two pivoting tabs (5) are folded down on top of the tile (3) extending 2 to 3 cm beyond it. These tabs (5) curved at their ends will make it possible to guide the tile tool assembly under the two roof tiles which cover the empty location, the illustrates it.

Once the tile tool assembly is inserted, with an advancing and rocking movement the lug of the tile (3) passes above the batten. The wheels (6) facilitate progression and tilting. When everything is correctly positioned, by resting everything flat, the lug that has fallen behind the batten blocks and leaves the replacement tile (3) securely in place when the tool is removed.

The tool according to the invention accompanied by a kit of small materials that can be clipped onto the pole (corners to keep the top tiles raised, hacksaw to saw the nails, pliers to finish breaking the damaged tile) also allows replacement nailed tiles. All these elements that make up this kit remain to be defined more precisely.

The tool according to the invention could benefit from possible improvements during its final industrial production.

This tool can be suitable for both professionals and individuals when a tile needs to be replaced.

Snap-on tool with a telescopic pole for replacing tiles on a roof, even damaged or missing nailed ones, at a distance from the operator, characterized in that it comprises a flat plate (1) on which the tile (3) is placed, spring clamps (4) to hold it, pivoting tabs (5) curved at their ends to fold over the tile (3) which serve as a guide when introducing the tile tool assembly under the tiles above the empty location of the removed or missing tile, wheels (6) which facilitate the advancement and tilting of the tool and a curved handle (7) to allow the tilting of the tool, this tool being attached to a telescopic pole for remote work on the entire roof.
