Abstract

The present invention relates to a refill system for a perfume bottle. The system includes a container for holding a supply of fragrance, a refill attachment, and a cap. The refill accessory can be attached to the container and includes an elongated nozzle. The nozzle is axially divided into a product flow duct and an air flow duct. Figure 1A

PERFUME REFILL

The present invention relates generally to perfume containers and, in particular, although not exclusively, to the refilling of a perfume bottle.

Perfume bottles are typically formed from glass or polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and fitted with an atomizing pump. The perfume bottle is often single-use and is discarded when the liquid perfume is used up.

The present invention generally relates to a solution for allowing the refilling of a perfume bottle so that it is no longer for single use.

One aspect of the present invention relates to a refill system for a perfume bottle, the system comprising a container for holding a supply of perfume, a refill accessory and a cap, the refill accessory attachable to the container and includes an elongated nozzle, the nozzle is axially divided into a product flow duct and an air flow duct.

In some embodiments, the airflow conduit may include an extension portion extending past the nozzle and product flow conduit toward the bottle.

The system may include a vent/vent duct that is or may be attached to the airflow duct.

The accessory may include a bezel. The collar can, for example, be placed on an upper part of a container neck when the accessory is fitted thereto.

The accessory may, for example, comprise a skirt projecting downwards from the collar. The skirt can, for example, fit (e.g. fit) into the orifice of a container neck (e.g. a bottle of cylindrical or oval shape).

A cap may be included to cover/seal/protect the nozzle.

The container can, for example, be formed from glass or a plastic material such as recycled PET.

The accessory can be formed from a plastic material such as recycled polypropylene (PP).

The system can be designed to be placed upside down on a perfume bottle in order to refill the perfume bottle from the container.

In some embodiments, when the level of refill liquid in a perfume bottle contacts the nozzle, it blocks airflow and stops the product refill flow.

In some embodiments, after refilling, when the nozzle is removed from the perfume bottle, the refill liquid does not flow because the airflow is blocked.

The present invention also relates to a refill system in which the container is filled with a supply of perfume.

The present invention also relates to a refill accessory for a perfume bottle, the refill accessory can be attached to a supply container and comprises an elongated nozzle which can be received in a perfume bottle, the nozzle is divided axially into a product flow conduit and an air flow conduit.

In some embodiments, the present invention is made in the form of a plastic mouthpiece that can be attached, for example, to a glass or PET bottle that contains perfume.

Some embodiments proceed as follows.

- Place this refill upside down on the empty perfume bottle.

- This fills the bottle and, when the level of liquid comes into contact with the plastic tip, it blocks the flow of air.

- When the refill is removed, the liquid does not flow out since the air cannot enter.

Certain embodiments are designed to offer the advantage of allowing the product to be used on any perfume neck.

The plastic tip can be made from recycled PP. The bottle can be made of glass or recycled PET.

Figures 1A through 1C illustrate a charging system generally indicated by the numeral 10.

The system 10 includes a bottle 15, an accessory 20 and a cap 25.

The bottle 15 is generally cylindrical and includes a neck 16 at one end. The neck 16 is provided with an external thread structure 17.

Cap 25 is also illustrated in Figures 2A-2E and includes a generally circular top plate 26 and a generally cylindrical side wall 27 projecting downward from the periphery thereof. Towards the open end of the side wall, an inner thread structure 28 is formed, this corresponding to the thread structure 17 so that the cap 25 can be screwed onto the container neck 16 and unscrewed therefrom. this. An annular sealing wall 29 projects downward from the underside of top plate 26.

Attachment 20 is also illustrated in Figures 3A-3F and includes a nozzle 30 having a generally circular cross-section, an annular radial flange 32 at the base of the nozzle, and an annular skirt 34 projecting downward from of the collar.

The interior of the nozzle 30 is divided into two lumens having an approximately semi-circular section: a product flow conduit 36 and a vent 38.

Product flow conduit 36 terminates at the base of the nozzle. Vent 38 continues axially beyond flange and skirt 34 through an extension portion 40.

The accessory 20 can be adapted in the neck of the container 16. The skirt 34 enters the opening of the neck until the collar 32 abuts against the upper part of the neck. A tight seal is thus formed in this embodiment. When the cap 25 is then completely screwed onto the neck 16, the sealing wall 29 engages the free end of the nozzle.

In this embodiment, the container is formed from recycled PET. The accessory and the cap are formed from recycled PP.

The refill dispenses the fragrance and the receiving bottle evacuates the air through the vent. When the liquid level reaches the nozzle, the airflow is interrupted and therefore the flow of fragrance is stopped. Product therefore flows into the perfume bottle until the liquid level reaches the end of the nozzle, then it stops since the air can no longer enter the vent.

– once the air flow is blocked, the refill system can be removed from the perfume bottle.

When the refill is removed from the perfume bottle, the product does not flow. This is partly due to the surface tension of the product.

When the liquid level reaches the nozzle, the airflow is interrupted and creates a small bubble of fragrance in the vent.

The fragrance bubble is evacuated through the vent when the refill is turned over.

The cap can now be put back on the nozzle and the pump can be put back on the perfume bottle.

Some embodiments could also be described as follows.

In this case, it is a plastic tip that can be adapted/attached to a glass or PET bottle that contains perfume. This refill is placed upside down on the empty perfume bottle. This fills the bottle and, when the level of liquid comes into contact with the plastic tip, it blocks the flow of air. When the refill is removed, the liquid does not flow out since the air cannot enter. An advantage is that this system can be used on any perfume neck.

A refill system (10) for a perfume bottle (170), the system comprising a container (15, 115) for holding a supply of perfume (160), a refill accessory (20, 120) and a cap (25 , 125), the refill accessory (20, 120) is configured to be attached to the container (15, 115) and includes an elongated nozzle (30, 130), the nozzle (30, 130) is axially divided into a conduit flow channel (36) and an air flow conduit (38). A system according to claim 1, wherein the airflow conduit (38) includes an extension portion (40) extending beyond the nozzle (30) and the product flow conduit (36) towards the bottle. A system according to claim 1 or claim 2, further comprising a ventilation duct (150) which is or can be attached to the airflow duct. A system according to any preceding claim including a collar (32). A system according to claim 4, further comprising a skirt (34) projecting downward from the skirt (32). A system according to any preceding claim, further comprising a cap (25, 125) to cover the nozzle. A system according to any preceding claim, wherein the container (15, 115) is formed from glass. A system according to any of claims 1 to 6, wherein the container (15, 115) is formed from a plastics material. A system according to claim 8, wherein the container (15, 115) is formed from recycled PET. A system according to any preceding claim, wherein the accessory (20, 120) is formed from a plastics material. A system according to claim 10, wherein the accessory (20, 120) is formed from recycled polypropylene. A system according to any preceding claim adapted to be placed upside down on a perfume bottle (170). A system according to any preceding claim, wherein the container (15, 115) is filled with a supply of perfume (160).
