Procédé de test d’étanchéité d’une membrane et dispositif de détection associé. L’invention concerne un procédé de test d’étanchéité d’une membrane de cuve comportant un espace intermédiaire d’isolation (87) de la chambre de détection (61), le dispositif de détection de fuite (54) comportant en outre une pompe à vide (57) raccordée à la chambre de détection (61) et un appareil de mesure raccordé à la chambre de détection (61) et configuré pour mesurer une variable représentative d’une quantité d’au moins un gaz test présent dans la phase gazeuse atmosphérique de l’espace externe, dans lequel une étape de vérification qu’un seuil d’isolation Si est atteint dans l’espace intermédiaire d’isolation (87) comprenant un gaz dit neutre différent du gaz test, l’atteinte de de ce seuil d’isolation Si étant une condition nécessaire au déclenchement du test d’étanchéité de la membrane.
