Abstract

Un moteur 1 est muni d'une culasse (3) disposée dans la partie supérieure d'un bloc-cylindres (2), un passage d'échappement (11) évacuant des gaz d'échappement d'une pluralité de cylindres (2A, 2B, 2C et 2D) et étant formé dans la partie interne de la culasse (3), un tuyau d'échappement (8) et un convertisseur catalytique (9) installés sur des surfaces latérales (2a, 3a) du bloc-cylindres (2) et la culasse (3) suivant la direction dans laquelle les cylindres sont agencés, et une partie de bride d'échappement (16) faisant saillie vers l'extérieur de la surface latérale (3a) de la culasse (3), le tuyau d'échappement (8) et le convertisseur catalytique (9) étant reliés à la partie de bride d'échappement (16). Le tuyau d'échappement (8) présente un premier passage de tuyau d'échappement (22) et un deuxième passage de tuyau d'échappement (23) séparés par une paroi de séparation (21), les gaz d'échappement évacués depuis une première fente d'échappement (14A) du passage d'échappement (11) s'écoulent à travers le premier passage de tuyau d'échappement (22) et les gaz d'échappement évacués depuis une deuxième fente d'échappement (14B) du passage d'échappement (11) s'écoulent à travers le deuxième passage de tuyau d'échappement (23). L'épaisseur de paroi de la paroi de séparation (21) diminue progressivement vers le côté aval de la direction dans laquelle s'écoulent les gaz d'échappement.
