Vehicle and passenger compartment seat including seat

The invention relates to vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, and also to vehicle interiors. More specifically, the invention relates to motor vehicle seats.

Generally, a vehicle interior includes at least one seat. For example, the vehicle includes a driver seat and a front passenger seat. The two seats are arranged side by side and oriented forward, with reference to the direction of travel of the vehicle. In addition, behind these two seats, the passenger compartment usually includes a bench seat capable of accommodating up to three other passengers. However, the seat is less comfortable than the two front seats.

This is why it is also known to have in the passenger compartment, also behind the two front seats, two seats: a right rear seat and a left rear seat in place of the bench seat. Passengers installed in these two seats benefit from comfort equivalent to that of passengers installed in the two front seats. However, in this case, the vehicle is likely to accommodate fewer passengers than with the seat.

An object of the invention is to provide a more functional seat element for a vehicle interior.

To do this, a seat for a vehicle is provided according to the invention, characterized in that it comprises:

- a first member forming a seat, and

- a second organ comprising:

o a fixed part forming a support for removably fixing the first member, and o a mobile part able to occupy a first position in which the mobile part forms an armrest and a second raised position in which the mobile part forms a backrest complementary to the seat.

Thus, the seat according to the invention can be arranged between two seats, oriented towards the front and spaced apart from one another so that the seat according to the invention occupies a free space between the two seats. The seat according to the invention can then occupy two configurations. In the first configuration, the seat forms a seat to accommodate a third passenger when necessary. In the second configuration, the seat according to the invention is in a configuration where the movable part of the second member forms an armrest for at least one of the passengers who occupies one of the two seats between which the seat according to the invention is willing. Thus, the seat according to the invention makes it possible to improve the comfort provided by the passenger compartment while increasing, when necessary, the carrying capacity of the passenger compartment. In addition, as the first member is removably attached to the second member, it is possible to move the first member, for example so that it is disposed between two other vehicle seats or more generally to free up the space near the second organ. The seat according to the invention is therefore more ergonomic and more flexible

In addition, in preferred embodiments of the invention, one and / or the other of the following arrangements may possibly be used:

- the first organ includes:

a body capable of being fixed to the fixed part of the second member, and a tablet movable relative to the body, the tablet being movable between a first position in which the tablet is retracted in the body and a second position in which the tablet is deployed outside the body and extends substantially in a horizontal plane; thus, the seat is able to occupy a third configuration in which the movable part of the second member forms the armrest and the tablet occupies the second position in which it is deployed outside the body. The tablet therefore forms a support suitable for at least one of the passengers who occupies one of the two seats between which the seat according to the invention is arranged for example to place a laptop there;

- Preferably, the first member comprises two movable shelves, advantageously independently of one another, between a first position in which the shelves are retracted in the body and a second position in which the shelves are deployed outside the body and extend substantially in a horizontal plane; thus, a shelf can be arranged opposite each of the two seats adjacent to the seat according to the invention;

- The body includes a cover forming an upper face of the first member and which is adapted to release access to the tablet; the tablet is therefore easy to access;

- The body comprises a storage device advantageously comprising a tray delimiting a storage space capable of sliding between a first closed position in which the storage space is enclosed in the body and a second extreme open position in which the storage space is accessible; the ergonomics of the seat according to the invention is therefore increased;

- in general, the body can include any type of storage device;

- Advantageously, the tray is able to slide in a direction parallel to a direction of advance of the vehicle and preferably is adapted to pass from the first position to the second position by sliding forward;

- Preferably, the body of the first member comprises the storage device;

- The movable part of the second member is able to pass from the first position to the second position and vice versa by rotation of a quarter turn around an axis extending parallel to an edge of the movable part; and

- The seat includes electrical control means capable of passing the movable part of the second member from the first position to the second position and vice versa; the seat according to the invention is therefore easy to use;

- The seat includes manual control means adapted to move the movable part of the second member from the first position to the second position and vice versa.

According to the invention, there is also provided a set of vehicle seats comprising two first seats and a seat as previously described.

There is also provided according to the invention a vehicle interior comprising at least one seat as previously described and / or a set of seats as described above.

In addition, in preferred embodiments of the invention, one and / or the other of the following arrangements may possibly be used:

- The first member is coupled to the passenger compartment so that it is able to slide between a first position in which it is removably fixed to the fixed part of the second member and a second position in which it is located at a distance of the fixed part of the second member;

the passenger compartment of the vehicle comprises at least a first pair of seats spaced apart from each other and a second pair of seats spaced apart from each other, the first pair of seats is arranged in front of the second pair of seats with reference to a direction of advance of the vehicle, the first member is movable between a first position in which it is arranged between the two seats of the first pair, so as to form a row of seats, and a second position in which it is arranged between the two seats of the second pair so as to form a row of seats;

- The second member is movable between a first position in which it is arranged between the two seats of the first pair and a second position in which it is arranged between the two seats of the second pair;

- The second member can be movable independently or jointly of the first member;

- in general, the passenger compartment can comprise as many pairs of seats arranged one after the other in the direction of advance of the vehicle, the first member and possibly the second member are then movable in this direction of so as to be able to be arranged between the two seats of a pair of seats;

- the passenger compartment comprises at least one rail complementary to the first member so that the first member is capable of sliding in the rail; preferably, the passenger compartment comprises two rails arranged parallel to one another;

- the passenger compartment comprises means for electrically controlling the movement of the first member in the rail;

- The first member can also be moved manually along the rail; it then preferably comprises electrical means for unlocking the first member of the rail so that it is released by sliding in the rail.

We will now describe, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of the invention using the following figures:

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a part of a vehicle cabin fitted with a seat according to an embodiment of the invention, when this seat occupies a first configuration,

- Figure 2 is a perspective view of a second seat member,

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of this part of the passenger compartment when the seat occupies a second configuration,

FIG. 4 is a perspective view of this part of the passenger compartment when the seat occupies a third configuration, and

- Figure 5 is a perspective view of this part of the passenger compartment fitted with the seat according to a variant of the embodiment of the invention.

There is shown in Figures 1, 3 and 4 in a simplified manner, a passenger compartment 10 of a motor vehicle. Note also that the invention can be implemented in any type of vehicle. FIG. 1 illustrates more precisely a rear part, with reference to a direction of advancement of the vehicle, of the passenger compartment 10. Thus, the passenger compartment 10 of the vehicle comprises two front seats, not shown. The passenger compartment 10 therefore includes a driver's seat and a passenger's seat. In addition, the passenger compartment 10 includes a set 12 of rear seats. This set 12 of rear seats is arranged behind the two front seats, with reference to the direction of travel of the vehicle.

The rear seat assembly 12 comprises a pair of seats comprising a right seat 14 and a left seat 16 arranged side by side, oriented in the same direction, namely towards the front of the vehicle, and spaced apart with respect to the other so as to leave a free space between them. The right seat 14 includes a seat 14A and a backrest 14B. Similarly, the left seat 16 includes a seat 16A and a backrest 16B.

In addition, the rear seat assembly 12 includes a seat 18 according to the invention. The seat 18 is arranged between the right 14 and left 16 seats and occupies the free space between these two seats. In addition, the seat 18 is also oriented towards the front and is in direct contact with the right 14 and left 16 seats. The seat 18 comprises a first member 20 and a second member 22.

The first member 20 comprises a body 21 which forms a seat. The body 21 thus comprises an upper face 24, with reference to a vertical direction (Z), arranged at a height substantially equivalent to a height of the respective seats 14A, 16A of the seats 14, 16. This upper face 24 has a quilted material or more generally a soft material. In addition, the upper face 24 forms a cover 25 capable of occupying a first closed position, illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 3 and a second extreme open position illustrated in FIG. 4. The cover 25 passes from the first position to the second position and vice versa by rotation about an axis coincident with a longitudinal edge 26 of the cover 25. In the first open position, the cover 25 extends substantially in a horizontal plane. In the second extreme open position, the cover 25 extends substantially in a vertical plane. In addition, the body 21 comprises means for locking the cover 25 in the first and second positions which may be of any type and may in particular comprise a latch. In addition, the seat 18 may include electrical control means for moving the cover 25 between the first and second positions and vice versa.

The upper face 24 which forms the cover is thus able to free access to a storage compartment, in the first member 20, which comprises two shelves 28, 30 illustrated in FIG. 4. These two shelves 28, 30 are suitable for occupy a first position, illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 3 in which they are retracted into the body 21 and a second position shown in FIG. 4 in which they are deployed outside the body 21. When the two shelves 28, 30 occupy the first position retracted, they are enclosed in the body 21 of the first member 20 and extend substantially in the vertical plane. The two shelves 28, 30 are inaccessible because the cover 25 occupies the closed position. When the two shelves 28, 30 occupy the second deployment position, they extend substantially in the horizontal plane opposite respectively of a backrest 14B, 16B of the respective seats 14, 16 so as to offer the users of these two seats a support for example to have a laptop or a meal. In this configuration, the cover 25 occupies the second extreme opening position. The shelves 28, 30 are movable between the first and second positions. The movements between these first and second positions can be done manually by the user or else electrically controlled by electric control means carried by the seat 18 or more generally by the passenger compartment 10.

In addition, according to a variant, represented in FIG. 5, of this embodiment, the body 21 of the first member 20 comprises a storage device 32 which comprises a tray 34 which is movable in sliding along the direction of advance of the vehicle in both directions between a first closed position and a second extreme open position illustrated in FIG. 5. Internal walls of the container 34 delimit a storage space. In the first closed position, the storage space is enclosed in the body 21 of the first member 20 and is inaccessible. In the second position, shown in Figure 5, the storage space is accessible to the user. Tray 34 moves from the first position to the second position by sliding forward. Thus, it goes from the second position to the first position by sliding backwards. Again, the tray 34 can be manually or electrically movable by electrical control means carried by the seat 18 or more generally by the passenger compartment 10.

The second member 22, in particular illustrated in FIG. 2, comprises a fixed part 36 and a movable part 38 disposed on the fixed part 36 which both have a substantially parallelepiped shape.

The fixed part 36 forms a support which makes it possible to removably fix the body 21 of the first member 20. The mobile part 38 is movable between two positions. In the first position, shown in Figures 2 and 3, the movable part 38 is raised, extends substantially in the vertical plane and forms a backrest oriented towards the front and complementary to the seat formed by the body 21 of the first member 20. Thus, as illustrated in FIG. 3, the seats 14, 16 and the seat 18 according to the invention form a row of seats arranged one next to the other. In this configuration, as can be seen in Figure 2, the second member 22 has a slender shape.

In the second position, shown in Figures 1, 3 and 4, the movable part 38 extends in a substantially horizontal plane and forms an armrest for users of neighboring seats 14, 16. The face capable of being in contact with elbows of users is a face opposite to that which is intended to be in contact with a back of the user of the seat element 18 when it forms a seat. These two faces comprise a quilted material or more generally a soft material. In addition, the movable part 38 is able to occupy a plurality of positions corresponding to different inclinations relative to the vertical when it forms the backrest.

In addition, the mobile part 38 comprises an axis of rotation which extends parallel to a lower edge of the mobile part 38. This mobile part 38 passes from the first position to the second position by a rotation of a quarter turn around of this axis of rotation as can be seen by comparing in particular Figures 1 and 3. The movable part 38 can be moved manually between the first and second positions, for example using a handle disposed on this movable part 38 and / or electrically by means of electrical control means carried by the seat 18 or more generally by the passenger compartment 10.

The second member 22 comprises means for locking the movable part 38 in the first and second positions which can be of any type.

In addition, the passenger compartment 10 comprises two rails 40, 42 which extend in the direction of advance of the vehicle parallel to one another. Note that the passenger compartment 10 could also include only one rail. These two rails 40, 42 are complementary to a lower face of the body 21 of the first member 20 so that the latter is movable in translation. The body 21 can thus be moved between a first position illustrated in FIGS. 1, 3 and 5, in which the body 21 of the first member 20 is disposed between the respective seats 14A, 16A of the seats 14, 16 and fixed to the fixed part 36 of the second member 22 and a second position, shown in Figure 4, in which the body 21 is moved forward and is distant from the fixed part 36 of the second member 22 so that the shelves 28, 30 can be deployed. The body 21 comprises means for locking in translation in the two rails 40, 42 which can be of any type and in particular similar to those used in general for vehicle seats.

Consequently, synthetically, the seat 18 according to the invention can have three different use configurations.

In the first configuration, illustrated in FIG. 1, the movable part 38 of the second member 22 forms the armrest for the neighboring seats 14, 16. The body 21 of the first member 20 is disposed between the respective seats 14A, 16A of the neighboring seats 14, 16.

In the second configuration, shown in Figure 3, the body 21 of the first member forms the seat and the movable part 38 of the second member 22 forms the additional backrest. The seat 18 therefore forms a seat arranged between the two seats 14A, 16A. The body 21 of the first member 20 is fixed to the fixed part 36 of the second member 22.

In the third configuration, illustrated in FIG. 4, the body 21 of the first member 20 forms a support for the shelves 28, 30 deployed is arranged respectively opposite the backs 14B, 16B of the respective seats 14, 16. The movable part 38 of the second member 22 forms the armrest. In addition, the body 21 of the first member 20 is distant from the fixed part 36 of the second member 22.

Of course, many variations can be made to the invention without departing from the scope thereof.

For example, the passenger compartment 10 may comprise several, that is to say at least two, pairs of seats 14, 16 spaced relative to each other so as to leave a free space between them, and oriented in the same way. These pairs of seats 14, 16 are arranged one after the other along the direction of advance of the vehicle. The rails 40, 42 extend along these pairs of seats 14, 16 in the free spaces left between two seats 14, 16 of a pair of seats 14, 16. The seat 18 according to the invention can then be moved around. along these rails 40, 42 so as to be able to occupy a free space between two seats 14, of a pair of seats 14, 16. The first member 20 and the second member 22 are then independently movable relative to the 'other or jointly. According to a variant, only the first member 20 can be movable. These movements can be done manually and / or electrically controlled by means carried by the seat 18 or more generally by the passenger compartment 10.

It will also be noted that the two rails can extend to a free space arranged between two front seats, namely the driver and passenger seats, of the vehicle. This is particularly suitable for electric vehicles, or any other vehicle, which do not include a gear lever disposed between the two front seats.

Claims (10)

Claims 1. Seat (18) for a vehicle, characterized in that it comprises: - a first member (20) forming a seat, and - a second member (22) comprising: o a fixed part (36) forming a support for removably fixing the first member (20), and o a mobile part (38) able to occupy a first position in which the mobile part (38) forms an armrest and a second raised position in which the movable part (38) forms a file complementary to the seat. 2. Seat (18) according to the preceding claim, in which the first member (20) comprises: a body (21) capable of being fixed to the fixed part (36) of the second member (22), and - a tablet (28, 30) movable relative to the body (21), the tablet (28, 30) being movable between a first position in which the tablet (28, 30) is retracted in the body (21) and a second position in which the tablet (28, 30) is deployed outside the body (21) and extends substantially in a horizontal plane. 3. Seat (18) according to the preceding claim, wherein the body (21) comprises a cover (25) forming an upper face (24) of the first member (20) and which is adapted to release access to the tablet ( 28, 30). 4. Seat (18) according to any one of claims 2 and 3, wherein the body (21) comprises a storage device (32) advantageously comprising a tray (34) defining a storage space capable of sliding between a first closed position in which the storage space is enclosed in the body (21) and a second extreme open position in which the storage space is accessible. 5.
