The present invention relates to a grating module intended to cover a channel extending between a slab, in particular of a terrace, and the lower cross member of a window frame, said grating module comprising a plate of parallelepipedal shape, thickness e, delimited by two opposite longitudinal flanks and two opposite lateral flanks, provided with a plurality of through orifices formed between its upper face and its lower face.
Grating modules conforming to such a structure are commonly used for many applications. However, it has been found that they are not entirely satisfactory for some of them.
Thus, it has for example been found that the presence of grating modules, having such a structure, at the level of a gutter separating a bay window from a terrace slab, does not allow complete darkness between the internal space in the room comprising the bay window and the external environment, when the shutter with which the bay window is fitted is lowered.
Indeed, due to a distribution of the through orifices over the entire plate, the latter are located on either side of the lower end of a flap extending above the upper face of the plaque. Some through holes are therefore located in an external space, between the terrace and the shutter, while other through holes are located in an internal space, between the shutter and the picture window. Any incidental external or internal light ray is therefore able to penetrate the plate through an orifice located in the external or internal space and then circulate through the plate before emerging, on the other side, through an internal orifice. or external. Thus, with such a grating module, any possible external light is inevitably diffused in the room considered and moreover, any possible light lit in the room considered is visible from the outside, including when the shutter is completely lowered.
Furthermore, the implementation of a grating module of conventional structure stated above also has the disadvantage of requiring, if necessary, the use of additional reinforcements under the grating to consolidate the junction zone between the slab and the module.
In addition, often due to a simple juxtaposition of the grating module against the slab, an unsightly slot in which a lot of dirt can accumulate is provided at this same junction zone.
The present invention aims to overcome all of the drawbacks mentioned above. It thus has in particular for objective to propose a solution making it possible at the same time to prohibit any untimely circulation of light rays through a gutter, in particular of type extending between a terrace and a picture window. Another object of the invention is to improve the mechanical strength, the aesthetics and the safety of use of a grating module used to cover such a gutter.
To this end, the present invention relates to a grating module of the kind indicated in the preamble, characterized in that said plate comprises a strip of solid material extending on its upper face between its lateral flanks along a first longitudinal flank, and means designed capable of establishing a junction between said module and said slab extending along the second longitudinal flank.
In accordance with a preferred variant embodiment of the invention, the means designed capable of establishing a junction between said module and said slab are defined by a longitudinal wing extending along the second longitudinal flank of the plate, in the extension and in the plane of its upper face.
It has been imagined that, according to an example, said longitudinal wing can be defined by a wall of an “L” shaped section, the other wall of which is secured to the second longitudinal flank of said plate.
In this case, the second longitudinal flank and the other wall of the “L” profile may for this purpose comprise a plurality of coaxial holes suitable for allowing the fixing of said “L” profile by means of assembly members chosen from the list with screws or rivets.
According to another example, said longitudinal wing can also be formed integrally with said plate.
Another characteristic of the present invention is further defined by the fact that said longitudinal wing has an upper face of which at least a portion, extending from its free end towards the upper face of said plate, is oblique, so that the free end of said longitudinal wing extends to a height h0 of the lower face of the plate less than the thickness e of said plate.
On the other hand, the invention also provides that said strip of solid material which is provided with the upper face of said plate can be produced by means of a material having non-slip properties attached to the upper face of said plate.
Likewise, at least the upper face of said longitudinal wing may advantageously be made up or coated with a layer of a material having non-slip properties.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the detailed description which follows, relating to an exemplary embodiment of the grating module according to the invention, given solely by way of non-limiting indication.
The understanding of this description will be facilitated by referring to the accompanying drawings, in which:
La figure 1 illustre une vue en perspective d'un module de caillebotis selon l'invention, dans lequel l'aile longitudinale est définie par une paroi d'un profilé en « L » dont l'autre paroi est solidarisée au second flanc longitudinal de ladite plaque,FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of a grating module according to the invention, in which the longitudinal flange is defined by a wall of an “L” profile, the other wall of which is secured to the second longitudinal flank of said plate,
Figure 4 illustrates a side view of the grating module of Figure 1 installed on a gutter extending between a patio slab and a bottom rail of a window frame.
In the alternative embodiment illustrated in the figures, the module 1 of gratings according to the invention is used to fill a gutter 2 extending between a patio slab 3 and a lower cross member 4 of a window 5. The grating module 1 is made of a material adapted to the constraints of use, such as for example an isophthalic polyester resin of RAL 7035 type, reinforced with glass fibers, or any other material having equivalent properties. The grating module 1 is composed of a plate 6 of parallelepiped shape, the thickness e of which is for example equal to 25 mm, delimited by two opposite longitudinal flanks 7, 8 and two opposite lateral flanks 9, 10.
Conventionally, the plate 1 is provided with a plurality of through orifices 11 formed between its upper face 12 and its lower face 13. In the illustrated embodiment, the orifices 11 are square in shape, have a side length equal to 13 mm and provide between them meshes having a center distance of 19mm x 19 mm. Such dimensions advantageously prevent any falling objects from passing through the grating, while preserving comfort for the passage of a user.
However, this choice of structure is given only by way of example, and many other shapes and dimensions can also be envisaged for the through orifices 11.
According to the invention, the plate 6 advantageously comprises a strip of solid material 15 extending on its upper face 12 between its lateral flanks 9, 10 along a first longitudinal flank 7 intended to be located against the lower cross member 4 of the window frame 5 when the plate 6 is installed in the gutter 2. With such a structure, the strip of solid material 15, by definition devoid of through orifices 11, is located in the axis of a flap 17 with bay window 5 is fitted (see Figure 4). Thus, when the latter is lowered, it makes it possible, with the strip of solid material 15, to prevent any circulation of light rays between an internal space 16 situated between a shutter 17 and an external space 18 situated between the latter and the slab 3, and vice versa. Furthermore, this strip of solid material 15 also makes it possible to improve the robustness of the plate 6, at least at the level of the zone considered, which has an advantage since the flap 17 comes to bear on this zone when it is lowered, and that it is therefore likely to undergo more mechanical stresses.
In the variant embodiment illustrated, the plate 6 is moreover provided with a longitudinal wing 19 extending along its second longitudinal flank 8 in the extension and in the plane of its upper face 12. This longitudinal wing 19 can be manufactured in one piece with the plate 6. However, in the illustrated embodiment, it is defined by a wall of an “L” shaped section 20, the other wall 21 of which is secured to the second longitudinal flank 8 of said plate 6 (see Figures 2 and 3). To this end, the wall 21 of the “L” profile and the second longitudinal flank 8 of the plate 6 have a plurality of respectively 22, 23 coaxial holes capable of allowing the fixing of said “L” profile 20 by means of members. assembly such as for example rivets 24, or any other equivalent assembly means. It should also be noted that the longitudinal wing 19 has a lower face 27 which extends at a height hO from the lower face 13 of the plate 6 chosen so that the longitudinal wing 19 rests on the upper face 28 of the slab 3 when the grating module 1 is installed in the gutter 2. This has the advantage of avoiding the use of independent reinforcing means under the grating module 1 to consolidate the junction zone between the latter and the slab 3.
According to a characteristic of the invention, the longitudinal wing 19 furthermore has an upper face, at least one portion 25 of which extends from its free end 26 to the upper face 12 of the plate 6, is oblique. In short, the free edge of the longitudinal wing 19 is thus bevelled. This makes it possible to smoothly compensate for any difference in level between the upper face 28 of the slab 3 and the upper face 12 of the plate 6 and consequently to prevent a user from tripping against the edge of the grating module 1 during of his passage.
In order to further improve the safety of use of the grating module 1, it is also intended to produce the strip of solid material 15 by means of a material having non-slip properties, such as for example an added siliceous material, for example example by gluing, on the upper face 12 of the plate 6. Similarly, the longitudinal wing 19 or at least its upper face is made of a material having non-slip properties, such as for example a siliceous material, or is at least coated with a layer of such a material.
