Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a mechanical device for digging and scraping the road edges, before repairing the coating, at an adjustable angle of 8 to 12 degrees (or any other value determined by the profile of the roadway), and a depth also adjustable from 0 to about 28 cm.
Until today, this work is done by hand, with pickaxe and shovel, so at a much higher cost. The device according to the invention is mounted on a self-propelled construction machine whose power is adapted to the digging efforts of the road edges and which is equipped with a hydraulic system of sufficient characteristics (in pressure and flow).
The device is constituted, according to a first characteristic, of a blade (1) which proceeds to the digging and scraping of the low side of the roadway, to a depth of up to 28 cm. This blade, made of steel treated to resist abrasion, has a shape adapted to the profile that one wants to give to the edge of the road, and it is bolted on a mechanically welded channel (2), of width about 80 cm, comprising a bucket chain (3) which lifts the rubble to a height of approximately 1.5 meters, in order to discharge them: - on a first belt (4) which brings these rubble in the axis of the construction machine, then: - on a second mat (5) which, itself, dumps: - on a third mat (6), orientable and expandable by hydraulic controls, 20 to evacuate these rubbish directly on a dump truck. The channel (2) is fixed, in particular by welding or any other means, to a mechanically welded transverse beam (7), firmly supported by the chassis of the self-propelled machine and which makes it possible to position the channel (2) relative to the ground (2) therefore the blade (1). The movements of the channel (2) and the displacements of the beam (7) can be controlled by hydraulic cylinders. The channel (2) and the belts (4, 5, 6) can be hinged so that they can be folded onto the self-propelled vehicle so as not to exceed the dimensions authorized for road traffic. To complete the work and leave a clean yard, a rotating brush (8) is attached under the rear of the vehicle to scavenge the earth that could have fallen from the mats (4), (5) and (6). The device according to the invention is intended to greatly facilitate the work of preparing the ground before repairing the pavement of the roads, replacing a work currently done by hand.
The appended drawing schematically shows a top view of the device according to the invention, mounted on the chassis of a self-propelled construction machine, of suitable power and equipped with sufficient hydraulic equipment.
