Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de mise en volume, sous la forme d'un fourreau (2), d'une découpe (18) de carton pour la fabrication d'une caisse du type caisse américaine, ainsi qu'une installation pour sa mise en oeuvre. Conformément à l'invention, le procédé comporte les étapes suivantes : prélever dans un magasin (3) une découpe (18) présentant une inscription réalisée de façon standard ou inversée, au moyen d'un premier bras (7) extracteur, maintenir ce premier bras (7) appliqué sur un premier côté de la découpe, et appliquer ensuite un second bras (9) sur un second côté de la découpe, le second côté étant opposé au premier côté. Le procédé conforme à l'invention comprend la mise en oeuvre de moyens de commande (10) après l'application du second bras (9), pour mettre en volume, sous forme de fourreau, la découpe présentant une inscription réalisée de façon standard ou inversée, les moyens de commande actionnant ledit premier bras extracteur (7), ou le second bras (9) pour ouvrir la découpe (18).
