L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de gestion de l'alimentation d'un moteur (10), le moteur (10) comportant : des cylindres (18), un turbocompresseur (28) distribuant de l'air comprimé aux cylindres (18), un refroidisseur (30) d'air suralimenté provenant du turbocompresseur (28), un papillon (32) contrôlant le débit d'air refroidi et introduit dans les cylindres (18), une boucle (24) de recirculation des gaz d'échappement, une vanne (26) de contrôle du débit de gaz d'échappement recirculés introduits dans les cylindres (18), caractérisé en ce que le procédé comporte la détection de la diminution de la charge du moteur (10), l'ouverture de la vanne (26) et la fermeture du papillon (32) lorsque la charge du moteur (10) diminue
