Dispositif de propulsion d'un engin marin de navigation comprenant un moyen de propulsion (34), un moteur (10) entraînant un arbre de transmission (30) destiné à fournir un couple du moteur (10) au moyen de propulsion (34), ledit arbre de transmission (30) s'étendant globalement perpendiculairement à un axe de propulsion du dispositif (P), et un moyen (11) de transmission du couple du moteur comportant un arbre moteur (17) apte à entraîner l'arbre de transmission (30), l'arbre moteur (17) étant entraîné par le moteur (10) et s'étendant perpendiculairement à l'arbre de transmission (30).
