Abstract

The prop (1) has a reinforcement (3) realized under the form of an element connected to a base of a post of the prop in a demountable manner, near a ground support plate (2). The reinforcement is presented under the form of two identical half-shells (3') which are connected relative to each other by two pairs of screws (4) i.e. self-tapping screws, where the reinforcement is formed by molding the half-shells in a thermoplastic material. A sliding upper part of the prop is adjusted in position by a threaded sleeve cooperating with an end of the post.

Il s'ensuit qu'après une répétition plus ou moins importante de telles maiamvres de démontage, la partie inférieure du fût de l'étai soit déformée, de telle manière que l'ensemble de l'étai n'est plus en mesure d'assurer une reprise correcte des efforts qui lui sont appliqués. Pour obvier à cet inconvénient, il a été proposé de pourvoir la partie inférieure du fût de l'étai à proximité immédiate de la platine d'un élément de renfort sous la forme d'un tube en acier soudé sur ladite extrémité, contre la face supérieure de la platine. Une telle réalisation permet, certes, d'améliorer la résistance aux chocs de la partie inférieure du fût mais n'en empêche pas la déformation suite à des démontages successifs au moyen d'une masse, cette déformation étant simplement ralentie, donc différée dans le temps. De plus, du fait que le renfort tubulaire est soudé, son remplacement après endommagement n'est pas envisageable et l'ensemble de l'étai est alors hors d'usage. -2- La présente invention a pour but de pallier ces inconvénients en proposant un étai muni d'un renfort permettant un montage à la demande dudit renfort et son remplacement en cas d'endommagement. A cet effet, l'étai muni d'un renfort est caractérisé en ce que ledit renfort est réalisé sous forme d'un élément pouvant être rapporté de manière démontable sur la base du fût, près de la platine d'appui au sol. L'invention sera mieux comprise, grâce à la description ci-après, qui se rapporte à un mode de réalisation préféré, donné à titre d'exemple non limitatif, et expliqué avec référence au dessin schématique annexé, dans lequel : la figure 1 est une vue partielle en perspective d'un étai conforme à l'invention, le renfort étant représenté en vue éclatée, et la figure 2 est une vue à plus grande échelle analogue à celle de la figure 1, le renfort étant monté sur une partie inférieure du fût de l'étai. Un tel étai est, de manière connue, pourvue d'une partie supérieure coulissante pouvant être réglée en position par l'intermédiaire d'un manchon fileté coopérant avec l'extrémité de la partie inférieure ou fût de l'étai 1, du côté opposé à la platine d'appui au sol 2, et avec une broche réglable en position sur la partie télescopique. Ces différents éléments étant connus, ils ne sont pas représentés sur le dessin annexé, ni décrit plus en détail. Par ailleurs, afin d'opposer une résistance accrue contre les chocs près de la platine d'appui au sol 2, l'étai 1 est muni, également de 25 manière connue, d'un renfort 3. Conformément à l'invention, le renfort 3 est réalisé sous forme d'un élément pouvant être rapporté de manière démontable sur la base du fût de l'étai 1, près de la platine d'appui au sol 2. De préférence, le renfort 3 se présente sous forme de deux demi-coquilles identiques 3' reliées entre 30 elles par deux paires de vis 4. Selon une caractéristique de l'invention, le renfort 3 est avantageusement réalisé par moulage des demi-coquilles 3' en une matière thermoplastique. Une telle réalisation permet, d'une part, une fabrication à un coût relativement faible et, d'autre part, l'obtention d'un renfort 3 35 présentant une certaine capacité d'absorption des chocs et ayant donc tendance à se déformer relativement lentement, de sorte que la protection assurée sur la base du fût est améliorée. -3- Les vis d'assemblage des demi-coquilles 3' sont avantageusement des vis auto-taraudeuses et chaque demi-coquille 3' présente cet effet, d'une part, près de l'un de ses bords, deux trous traversant pour les vis, ainsi qu'un lamage correspondant 4' pour les têtes de ces dernières et, d'autre part, près du bord opposé deux perçages 4" de faible diamètre destinés à coopérer avec les pointes auto-taraudeuses des vis 4. La prévision du renfort 3 sous forme de deux demi-coquilles 3' pouvant être assemblées par deux paires de vis auto-taraudeuses permet une adaptation simple et rapide d'un tel renfort sur la base d'un fût d'étai, près de la platine 2 d'appui au sol. En outre, cette constitution du renfort 3 le rend très facilement démontable, de sorte qu'il peut être très rapidement remplacée ou encore qu'il peut être procédé, grâce à son retrait à une vérification visuelle de l'état du fût. Une telle vérification est particulièrement intéressante par rapport aux renforts connus à ce jour qui sont sous forme d'un manchon métallique soudé et avec lesquels l'analyse du fût n'est possible que par l'intérieur de celui-ci, donc avec une visibilité très réduite. Grâce à l'invention, il est possible de réaliser un renfort d'étai pouvant être rapidement monté et démonté et présentant une forte capacité d'absorption des chocs, de sorte que la tenue dans le temps d'un était ainsi équipée est sensiblement amélioré. En outre, le renfort conforme à l'invention peut être rapporté sur des étais dépourvus d'un tel renfort, soit pour satisfaire à des prescriptions règlementaires, soit pour répondre à des critères d'utilisation particuliers.
