"Manufacture of handles for cookers".
The present invention relates to a more extensive application of the handles for stoves-cookers described in main patent no.350,228 of April 3, 1928, and consists essentially of a removable handle, as well as of its method of attachment, this handle being able to be attached. 'Adapt either to stoves, or to charcoal shovels, or to stoves, or to any household object.
The improved handle which is the subject of the present invention essentially comprises a handle proper, pierced at its two ends with two holes allowing passage to a threaded rod at both ends, this rod engaging in appropriate nuts of the device to which it must. be fixed and which can be either a stove, a charcoal shovel, a stove or any object. In addition, the handle following the pre-
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
This invention may include devices preventing rotation of the handle when the latter is fixed, devices which will be described in detail below.
One embodiment will be given below, by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, showing the application of the removable handles according to the present invention, to coal shovels.
In these drawings: fig 1 shows a model of the handle itself, fig. 2 shows the shovel provided with a device preventing the rotation of the handle; fig. 3 shows the assembly rod provided with a cap forming a nut.
Referring to these drawings, the handle 1 will consist of two sockets 2, joined together by the cylindrical sleeve 3, this handle may be / in nickel-plated sheet, either in aluminum or in any other material; likewise the model of this handle is liable to vary. This handle is hollow and has an axial passage 4 allowing the insertion of the assembly rod 5 (fig. 3).
Referring to Figure 2, 6 shows a shovel, provided with a part 7 for fixing the shovel, this part 7 comprising a nut 8 of square shape. As on the other hand the handle 1 has at the end corresponding to the nut 8 an opening 9, also of square shape, and of suitable dimensions, it will be possible to fit the handle 1 onto the nut 8, so as to prevent the rotation of the handle, when the latter is assembled by the rod 5 to the shovel.
The handle and the rod are assembled by means of a rod 5 (fig. 2), the threaded end 10 of which is screwed into the nut 8 and the other end of which, also threaded 11, allows the use of a cap 12, forming a nut and allowing a more or less energetic tightening of the handle 1.

It should be understood that the example described and shown constitutes only one form of application of the invention and that the latter also relates to the application of the handle shown to any household object; likewise, the invention is liable to vary in its details; thus, instead of using a nut 8 of square shape, the rod 5 could be given a square shape to fit into a corresponding square hole in the handle.
