Abstract

The handle of the parasol is held in the top of a tube (1), circular in cross section, whose inner diameter corresponds to that of the handle. The lower end of the tube is extended by a borer (2) that is screwed into the ground. Two handles (3) are articulated on opposite supports (4), fixed to the top of the tube. When they are open they are used to screw the tube into the ground, or unscrew it. When they are folded against the tube eccentric parts on their inner ends block the handle in place.

Description

SECURITY FIXTURE
The subject of the present invention is a safety parasol fix.

 It is intended to firmly anchor umbrellas in all types of loose soil, and in particular in the sand.

 Accidents and material damage caused by parasols torn off by the wind are more and more frequent, especially on the beaches where summer visitors often install them without precautions, all the more since they will generally have to recover them when they leave the places.

 The large expanses without obstacles formed by the beaches allow the wind to reach significant speeds very suddenly and without warning, without allowing time to fold the canvas to offer less grip.

 When these bursts occur, some loose umbrellas take off, gain speed because of the large area they present in relation to their weight and can thus become a very dangerous projectile, in particular because of the tip of their sleeve.

 A good fixation would be enough to avoid the sometimes very serious injuries that occurred in this way, without counting the fatal accidents occurring every year.

 The usual parasols are in the form of a large folding umbrella mounted on a mast or "handle" having a pointed end at its lower part allowing it to be planted in the ground.

 For hard and flat surfaces, there are heavily weighted bases receiving this handle and generally comprising a blocking system preventing the parasol from flying away in the event of gale.

 To the uneven surfaces and the loose grounds, and in particular for the sand, to date there is to our knowledge no satisfactory device allowing at the same time easy and solidly to install a parasol and to recover it without difficulties.

 The device according to the present invention aims to remedy this state of affairs by making it possible to produce, for a very reasonable price, a parasol holder which can be easily set up and dismantled.

 It consists of a tube whose inner diameter is slightly greater than the diameter of a parasol handle, extended by a tendril with a non-protruding end with non-cutting edges, and comprising at its upper part two self-locking handles allowing, depending on their position, on the one hand, the screwing and unscrewing in the ground of the parasol holder and, on the other hand, the blocking of the handle of the parasol itself.

In the accompanying drawings, given by way of nonlimiting example of one of the embodiments of the subject of the invention:
Figures 1 and 2 show, respectively in elevation and in plan, the parasol holder with the movable handles in the separated position.

 and Figure 3 is an axial vertical section along the arrows A-A of Figure 2, showing the device with the handles folded along the tube.

 The device, Figures 1 to 3, consists of a tube 1 of circular section whose inside diameter is slightly greater than the outside diameter of the handle of a common parasol, comprising at one of its ends a twist 2 and at l 'other end two articulated handles 3 ensuring a double locking function of the parasol handle in the tube 1 and rotation of the device to screw or unscrew it in the ground.

 The spin 2 is of the wide pitch type that can be screwed into loose soil, typically 2 to 3 centimeters. Its extremity is neither pointed nor protruding and its edges are neither sharp nor sharp.

 The articulated handles 3 are mounted in two U-shaped supports 4 each carrying a pivot 5 with an axis perpendicular to that of the tube 1, and fixed in positions diametrically opposite the upper part of the latter so that the handles can be folded along the tube or be arranged horizontally in the extension of one another to form a T with the tube, in order to facilitate the screwing and unscrewing operations.

 The end on the support side of the handles has an eccentric element 6 ensuring the blocking of the parasol handle when they are folded down and its release when they are separated, as well as their maintenance in this position.

 Advantageously, a ratchet or notching system (not shown) is provided, creating a hard point holding the articulated handles in the operating position. We can also consider the use of elastic washers mounted on the pivots 6 and causing friction between the support and the handles preventing them from falling back when they are spaced from the tube.

The dimensions of the device will be determined according to the type of parasol. For example, for common parasols, they could have values close to that which appear below.

- Handle length 85 mm
The parasol holder can be made of metal, the spin 2 being welded to the lower end of the tube 1.

However, in order to reduce the weight to facilitate its transport, and to reduce its cost price in the context of a large distribution, it may be made wholly or partially of resistant synthetic material, such as reinforced polyester or any other material having characteristics of solidity and hardness compatible with the use of the device.

 Thanks to its simplicity, its ease of use, its reduced volume and its low cost price, the device which has just been described lends itself particularly well to the production of a mounting bracket for parasols intended to be carried with them. the beach or the countryside.

 The positioning of the various constituent elements gives the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not, to date, been obtained by similar devices.

 10. safety parasol holder, designed to firmly anchor a parasol in all types of soft ground, and in particular in sand,  characterized by the combination of a tube (1) of circular section whose internal diameter is determined to receive the handle of a parasol, extended at one of its ends by a twist (2) which can be screwed into loose soil , and provided at the other end with two articulated handles (3) capable of performing two functions, on the one hand, the blocking of the parasol handle in the tube (1) and, on the other hand, the rotation of the device to screw it or unscrew it in the ground.  20. A parasol holder according to claim 1, characterized in that the articulated handles (3) are mounted in two supports (4) fixed in diametrically opposite positions on the tube (1) so that said handles can be folded along it or be arranged horizontally in the extension of one another so as to form a "T" with the tube.  30. Fixed parasol according to claim 2, characterized in that the articulated handles (3) comprise, on the support side (4), an eccentric element (6) ensuring the locking of the parasol handle when they are folded against the tube (1) and its release when they are separated, as well as the maintenance of said articulated handles in this position.  40. Fixed parasol according to any one of claims 2 and 3, characterized in that it is equipped with a snap or notching system creating a hard point holding the articulated handles when they are arranged horizontally in line with one another.  50. Umbrella holder according to any one of claims 2 and 3, characterized in that elastic washers are mounted on the pivots (6) of the supports (4) so as to cause friction between the support and the handles (3 ) preventing them from falling back when they are moved away from the tube (1).  60. Fixed parasol according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the tendril (2) has an end which is neither pointed nor projecting and edges which are neither cutting nor sharp.  70. Fixed parasol according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the twist (2) is of the wide pitch type which can be screwed into loose soil, this pitch being between 20 and 30 millimeters.  80. Fixed parasol according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is made of metal.  90. Fixed parasol according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is made wholly or partially of resistant synthetic resin such as reinforced polyester.  100.
