Abstract

The seat frame has a displacement unit comprising a double-acting cylinder e.g. hydraulic cylinder, mounted between a lower part of a backrest frame and a mounting plate (51) of one of lateral upper posts (41, 42). The cylinder has a free end (66) and a closed end, which are mounted on rotation axes arranged on the plate and the lower part, respectively. One of the rotation axes is arranged at rear of a third rotation axis so that the cylinder inclines or straightens an upper part of the backrest frame with respect to the lower part by activating a control unit of the cylinder.

Description

The present invention relates to a seat frame of a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle seats are formed of a frame on which are placed and fixed cushions. The frame of a car seat comprises a backrest frame and a seat frame, which are often articulated relative to each other. Some seats have a backrest whose frame is in two parts: a lower part attached to the seat and which extends substantially to the area that corresponds to the shoulders of the user, and an upper part which extends this lower part and which supports or includes a headrest. The upper part is articulated on the lower part and can be inclined towards the seat, so as to better support the upper back of the user. The articulation of these two parts is obtained by means of electric motors whose controls are arranged at the seat of the seat. These engines are heavy, expensive and fragile. An object of the present invention is, in particular, to provide a seat frame as aforesaid which avoids the use of electric motors to implement the articulation of the two parts of the folder. This object is achieved by means of a motor vehicle seat frame comprising, in known manner, a seat frame and a backrest frame, said seat frame having a free front edge which defines the forward direction of said seat frame. frame, and a rear edge on which is mounted said backrest frame, said backrest frame having a lower portion and an upper portion having substantially the same width, said lower portion having an edge connected to said rear edge of said seat frame and a free edge which is disposed above said seat frame, said upper part having two upper lateral uprights which each have a pivot end, said pivot end being rotatably mounted on a first axis of rotation, transverse to said backrest frame, on said free edge of said lower part, said seat frame further comprising moving means ent of said upper part of said backrest frame which make it possible to arrange said upper part in any position between a nominal position in which said upper part is parallel to said lower part 2923770 and a position of use in which said upper part is inclined towards said seat frame. According to the invention, said displacement means comprise at least one double-acting jack, equipped with control means and mounted between said lower part and said pivot end of at least one of said upper lateral uprights, and said jack comprises a first and second ends which are rotatably mounted, respectively on a second and a third axis of rotation, transverse to said backrest frame, disposed respectively on said pivot end and on said lower part, and in that said second axis rotation is disposed at the rear of said first axis of rotation, whereby, by actuating said control means of said cylinder, said cylinder inclines or raises said upper part relative to said lower part. The use of the aforesaid cylinder makes it possible to tilt and straighten the upper part of the backrest smoothly, in a fluid manner, unlike an indentation mechanism which, on the one hand, can not include remote control on another portion of the seat and on the other hand, only allows a defined number of positions and a setting with jerk. According to one embodiment, a reinforcing member, which has a first and a second end, is traversed by said second axis of rotation at said first end and is rotatably mounted on said upper side post at said second end. end. This reinforcement piece avoids twisting at the second axis of rotation. Advantageously, said upper uprights each comprise an inner face, disposed facing one another and said cylinder is disposed on said inner face of at least one of said upper lateral uprights. This arrangement of the cylinder or cylinders avoids a seat frame too bulky. According to the invention, the type of cylinder is not limited. It can be a hydraulic cylinder, pneumatic or oleopneumatic. According to a particular embodiment, said jack is a cylinder of the hydraulic type.

Une pièce de renfort 8 relie la portion d'arbre 53 et le montant latéral 42.3 2923770 The use of the cylinder also allows to deport the control means of the latter. Advantageously, for ergonomic concerns, the control means are arranged to be accessible from said seat frame. These control means may comprise cables or rods which actuate the piston of the jack. According to the invention, the structure of the lower part is not limited. Thus, according to a particular embodiment, the lower part comprises two lower side uprights which each have a first end mounted on said seat frame and a second free end, on which is rotatably mounted one of said upper lateral uprights . According to a particular embodiment, said hydraulic cylinder comprising a cylinder in which is mounted movably a piston connected to a rod, external to said cylinder, said cylinder is shaped so that, in said nominal position, said rod is retracted to the maximum in said cylinder and that in said position of use, said rod is maximally out of said cylinder, and so that in the event of impact, the force exerted by the back of a user seated on a seat comprising said frame, drives said rod in said cylinder, whereby said upper part moves to said nominal position and said cylinder serves shock absorber. This particular arrangement gives the cylinder another function: that of shock absorber. This function is combined with the aforementioned adjustment function. The present invention, its characteristics and the various advantages it affords will be better understood in the light of the following description of a particular embodiment and which refers to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 represents the reinforcement seat arrangement according to the invention, when both parts of the backrest frame are aligned, i.e. in the nominal position; and FIG. 2 represents a detail of the armature of FIG. 1, when the upper part of the backrest is in its position of use. Referring to Figure 1, the seat frame according to the invention comprises a seat frame 1 on which is mounted a backrest frame 2. The backrest frame 2 comprises a lower part 21, connected to the seat armature 1, and an upper part 2923770 22, which, in the nominal position shown here, is arranged in alignment with the lower part 21 and extends the latter, in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane defined by the seat frame 1. The lower part 21 comprises two so-called lower lateral uprights 31 and 32. A first end of each of these uprights 31 and 32 is mounted on the seat frame 1. The upper part 22 comprises, also, two lateral amounts 41 and 42, called upper. The lower and upper side uprights 31, 32, 41 and 42 are kinds of plates whose length is arranged substantially vertically, above the seat frame 1, and whose width extends according to the depth of this last (the depth of the seat frame 1 being defined as the dimension separating the free edge of the seat frame 1, the edge of the latter connected to the lower part 21 of the backrest frame 2 ). Each lower and upper upright comprises an inner face facing the other lateral upright and an outward facing outer face of the backrest frame 2. As shown in FIG. 1, the upper lateral uprights 41 and 42 comprise their first end, a mounting plate 51. This plate 51 is rotatably mounted on a pallet 52 which equips the free end of each of the lower side uprights 31, 32. The upper uprights 41 and 42 are thus rotatably mounted around a first axis of rotation X1 which is transverse to the seat frame 1 and the backrest frame 2. This articulation is implemented by means of a first shaft portion 53 which passes through and assembles the plate 51 and the pallet 52. A jack 6 which comprises a piston, integral with a rod 63 and movably mounted in a cylinder 64, is mounted between the lower lateral upright 32 and the upper lateral upright 42, which extends it ge. The free end 66 of the piston rod 63 is rotatably mounted on the mounting plate 51 about a second axis of rotation X2, parallel to the axis X1 and disposed at the rear of the latter. For the purposes of the present invention, the front and rear terms are defined with respect to a direction substantially parallel to the surface of the seat frame, the front being located closer to the free edge of the seat frame 1 and the back being the area in the opposite direction. A second shaft portion 7 passes through and connects the free end 66 of the rod 63 and the mounting plate 51. A reinforcing member 8 connects the shaft portion 53 and the lateral leg 42.

This reinforcing piece 8 is rotatably mounted on the upper lateral upright 42 and moves with the free end 66 of the rod 63. This reinforcing piece 8 serves to reinforce the shaft portion 53 and to avoid its torsion. or its break. The closed end 67 of the cylinder 64, which corresponds to the end which is not traversed by the rod 63, has an eyelet 68 which allows the rotational mounting of the cylinder 64 on the lower lateral upright 32. The eyelet 68 is thus traversed by a third shaft portion 9 which materializes a third axis of rotation X3, transverse and parallel to x1 and X2. An additional reinforcement piece 91 which is fixed on the inner face of the lower upright 32 and which is traversed by the third shaft portion 9 10 consolidates the latter. The jack 6 is actuated by control means not shown but which are preferably accessible from the seat frame 1. The operation of the invention is as follows. In the nominal position, as shown in FIG. 1, the piston is retracted into the cylinder 64, the length of the rod 63 leaving the cylinder is minimal and the upper uprights 41 and 42 extend the lower uprights 31 and 32 and are aligned with these latter. The upper portion 22 is thus in the extension and the alignment of the lower part 21. When the user actuates the control means of the jack 6, the piston 20 rises in the cylinder 64 and the rod 63 comes out of the latter and makes tilting the upper uprights 41 and 42 which are rigidly secured to each other by the transverse connecting element 10. The upper part 22 thus switches to the seat frame 1, as shown on Figure 2, so as to ensure a reinforced support of the upper back of the user. By adjusting the position of the piston in the cylinder 64, it is possible to vary the inclination of the upper part 22, the latter being able to occupy an infinity of positions between the nominal position shown in FIG. 1 and the inclined position of the Figure 2. The cylinder 6 provides this infinity of positions and a smooth adjustment, unlike any other mechanical adjustment device that includes indentations.

7 In addition to the aforementioned adjustment, the seat frame according to the invention has another advantage. In case of shock, the back of the user is violently thrown forward and then hits the folder. In this case, the jack 6 can be used to dissipate the energy of this shock. The upper back of the user strikes the upper part 22. This force 5 drives the piston into the cylinder 64 which has the effect, on the one hand, to dissipate the energy released during the shock and on the other hand , straighten the upper part 22 which thus ensures effective maintenance of the head of the user, avoiding the so-called rabbit blow. The aforementioned embodiment has only one cylinder, but it is of course possible to equip each upper lateral amount of a cylinder. The presence of two jacks makes it possible to avoid torsion problems. 7
