Depuis quelques années, un véritable engouement s'est manifesté pour des actes interventionnistes à visée esthétique réalisés par des professionnels, tels que la chirurgie réparatrice de la face, du cou, du corps, du cuir chevelu et l'utilisation de différents appareillages tels que les lasers, les lampes flash qui permettent de traiter de nombreuses lésions de la peau (taches vasculaires, taches pigmentaires) ou de lutter contre le vieillissement et les rides. Les femmes qui s'adressent à ces techniques ont ressenti les premiers effets du vieillissement tels que fragilité et diminution de la souplesse de la peau, apparition des ridules et des rides.
