Abstract

The headrest (1) has an armature (2) provided with a mounting rod (3) mounted on a backrest of a seat, a flexible material block and a lining cover fitted to the block so as to form a support cushion (6), where the cover has a fitting opening (7). The opening has an edge that is associated to a profile on a part of its length. The profile is fit in a counter profile provided on the headrest so as to close the cover.

Description

The invention relates to a headrest of a motor vehicle seat.

  It is known to make a motor vehicle seat headrest comprising an armature provided with at least one mounting rod on the backrest of said seat, a block of flexible material and a pavement cap facing said block so as to form support cushion, said cap comprising a boot opening.

  In order to allow an optimal finish of the headrest, it is necessary to make an opening as small as possible, which causes a complexity of fitting the block by the cap.

  The invention aims to overcome this disadvantage.

  For this purpose, and according to a first aspect, the invention provides a motor vehicle seat headrest comprising a frame provided with at least one mounting rod on the back of said seat, a block of flexible material and a cap of pavement coating on said block so as to form a support cushion, said cap comprising a boot opening, the edge of said opening being associated, over at least a part of its length, with at least one first section, said first section being fitted into a counter profile provided on said headrest, so as to achieve a closure of said cap.

  In this description, the terms of positioning in the space (lower, rear, ...) are taken with reference to the headrest disposed in the vehicle.

  The proposed arrangement allows for an opening of optimal size to facilitate the entry of the block by the cap.

  Referring to the figures, there is described a headrest 1 of a motor vehicle seat comprising a frame 2 provided with at least one, and in particular two, rod 3 mounting on the back of said seat, a block 4 of flexible material, and a covering cap 5 on said block so as to form a support cushion 6, said cap comprising an opening 7 of footwear, the edge 8 of said opening being associated, for example by sewing, on at least a portion of its length, at least a first section 9, in particular obtained by extrusion, said first profile being fitted into a profile against 10 provided on said headrest, so as to achieve a closure of said cap.

  According to the embodiment of FIGS. 1, the opening 7 is defined at U, at the periphery 20 of the lower face 11 of the cushion 6, so as to define a flap 12, a second profile 13 being associated at the periphery of said flap, the first 9 and said second section being nested in the counter profile 10, the block 4 being based on molded flexible foam, said counter profile being overmolded by said block on the periphery of said lower face. The flap 12 comprises at least one, and in particular two, orifice 14 for passage of the mounting rod 3.

  According to the embodiment of Figures 2, the opening 7 is defined in a line on the underside 11 of the cushion, so as to form a slot.

  According to the embodiment of FIG. 2b, a first 9 - respectively second 13 - profile is associated on a first 15 - respectively second 16 - lip 3 of said slot, said first and second profiles being nested in the counter profile 10, the block 4 being based on molded flexible foam, said counter profile being overmolded by said block facing said slot.

  According to the embodiment of FIG. 2c, a first profile 9 is associated on a first lip 15 of said slot, the counter profile 10 being associated on the second lip 16 of said slot, so as to allow said first profile to fit into said against profile.

  According to the embodiment of FIGS. 3, the headrest 1 further comprises a molded casing 17 for covering one face of the block, the opening 7 of the cap being in the form of an orifice whose edge 8 corresponds to the periphery of said shell, the first section 9 extending substantially over the entire length of said edge, the profile against 10 being derived from molding of said shell and disposed at its periphery.

  According to the embodiment of Figure 4, the headrest 1 further comprises a molded casing 17 of a facing of the block, the opening 7 of the cap 5 being in the form of an orifice whose edge 8 corresponds to the periphery of said shell, the first section 9 extending substantially over the entire length of said edge, the counter profile 10 being overmolded by the block 4, made of molded flexible foam, the periphery of said shell being provided with at least one anchoring member 19 disposed in said counter profile with said first section, a peripheral projection 2.0 overhanging said profile against being provided on said shell.

  The projection 20 makes it possible to mask the interface zone between the cap 5 and the shell 17, in particular in the angles that may have an unsatisfactory aesthetic appearance because of undesirable creases. In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 3, the shell 17 is disposed against the lower face 11 of the block 4, said shell comprising at least one, and in particular two, orifice 18 for the passage of a mounting rod 3.

  It could be the same in the variant of Figure 4. Alternatively not shown, the shell 17 may be disposed against the rear face 5 of the block.

Claims (8)

  Motor vehicle headrest (1) comprising an armature (2) provided with at least one rod (3) for mounting on the backrest of said seat, a block (4) of flexible material and a cap (5). ) coating pavement on said block so as to form cushion (6) of support, said cap comprising an opening (7) donning, said headrest being characterized in that the edge (8) of said opening is associated, at least a portion of its length, at least a first section (9), said first section being fitted into a counter profile (10) provided on said headrest, so as to achieve a closure of said cap.   2. Headrest according to claim 1, the opening (7) being defined in a line on the underside (11) of the cushion (6), so as to form a slot, a first (9) - respectively second (13) - profile being associated on a first (15) - respectively second (16) - lip of said slot, said first and second sections being nested in the counter profile (10), the block (4) being based on foam molded flexible, said against profile being overmolded by said block facing said slot.   A headrest according to claim 1, the opening (7) being defined along a line on the underside (11) of the cushion (6) so as to define a slot, a first section (9) being associated on a first lip (15) of said slot, the profile against (10) being associated on the second lip (16) of said slot, so as to allow the interlocking of said first profile in said counter profile.   6. Headrest according to claim 1, further comprising a molded shell (17) for covering one face of the block, the opening (7) of the cap (5) being in the form of an orifice whose edge (8) corresponds to the periphery of said shell, the first section (9) extending substantially over the entire length of said edge, the counter profile (10) being derived from molding of said shell and disposed at its periphery.   7. Headrest according to claim 1, further comprising a shell (17) molded to cover one side of the block, the opening (7) of the cap (5) being in the form of an orifice whose edge (8) corresponds to the periphery of said shell, the first section (9) extending substantially over the entire length of said edge, the counter profile (10) being overmolded by the block (4), made from molded flexible foam, the periphery of said shell being provided with water minus an anchoring member (19) disposed in said counter profile with said first profile, a peripheral projection (20) overhanging said profile against being provided on said shell.   8. Headrest according to claim 6 or 7, the shell (17) being arranged against the lower face (11) of the block (4), said shell comprising at least one orifice (18) for the passage of a rod (3). ) mounting.
