Unlocking a blade of a closing knife by means of a detent system. The closure of a pocket knife is most often provided by a forced notch, a system widespread in the cutlery industry due to its simplicity of assembly and low manufacturing cost. But this system that requires the user to exert pressure on the blade to fold down may require for some people special attention to avoid possible injury. The device according to the invention improves, firstly, the blocking of the blade in its open position and, second, the unlocking thereof by means of a pump mechanism based on the front end of the handle. Indeed, when it opens, the blade is secured to the handle in its use position, which provides more security because it can not fall back in a conventional manner. But the innovation lies mainly in the unlocking system and in particular in its position that allows the user to separate the blade of the handle by a simple pressure exerted by the thumb. The device comprises according to a first feature, a set of three parts (a spring, a pusher and a hook), clamped between two side plates, which is the heart of the mechanism. The pusher hinged by an axis is held in pressure on a stop by means of the upper arm of the spring. The hook also articulated by an axis is held in pressure on a notch (made on the heel of the blade) through the lower arm of the spring. Thus, as soon as the user actuates the mechanism by pressing the pusher, the hook in contact with it pivots on its axis, to release the blade. The spring, secured to the plates by two axes, is thus provided with two arms that exert a resistance on the mobility of the pusher and the hook. Indeed, during the unlocking phase, the user must overcome this resistance which tends to bring the pusher and the hook back to their initial position. For this, a stop fixed on the plates at the level of 2906750 -2 the rear end of the pusher allows to reposition precisely. According to a second characteristic, the device comprises a blade (the latter being the functional part of a folding knife), and two plates grouping together a set of six axes which ensure the positioning and the connection of the parts of the mechanism. The blade is provided with a recess and a notch allowing it to be secured in the open position. Indeed, the blade simultaneously comes into contact with the front end of the pusher and with the hook which is housed in a notch located on the heel of the blade. During its closing phase, the blade is positioned between the two plates and a half-round shape made on the heel gives it a fluid movement during handling. A greater curvature is also made on the heel which is intended to accelerate its closure. At the end of the stroke, the blade is held exclusively by the hook which exerts pressure on the end of the heel via the lower arm of the spring. The hook also serves as a stop for the blade so that its cutting edge does not come into contact with the interior of the spring. According to particular embodiments: - The pusher may have on its upper part a superabundance of material, exceeding the grip of the plates, so that the user can operate the mechanism with the thumb. - To achieve a precise adjustment during assembly, the functional parts of the blade (at the notch and the point of contact with the pusher) can be provided with a material thickness of a few tenths. The ratios between the centers of rotation and the contact points, in particular on the pusher and the hook, may be different depending on the desired locking and unlocking force. - All parts of the device must be made of steel. For some - such as the spring, the hook, the blade and the pusher - they must be subjected to heat treatment in order to increase their mechanical characteristics. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: - Figure 1 shows the device in section (open blade). - Figure 2 shows the device in section (closed blade). - Figure 3 shows the device in section (in the unlocking phase). - Figure 4 shows the device in section (in the opening phase of the blade). - Figure 5 shows the device in perspective (open blade). - Figure 6 shows the device in perspective (closed blade). With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a pusher (3) articulated by an axis (7) held between the two side plates (1). This pusher (3) may have on its upper part an excess material allowing the user to have a support to operate the mechanism. This pusher (3) operates in a movement back and forth through a spring (4) immobilized by two axes (9) and (10). The position of the joint formed by the axis (7) makes it possible to reduce the pressure forces to be provided by the user because of a large lever arm. The axis (8) acting as a stop allows to put the pusher (3) in its initial position and following the extension of the plates (1).
The spring (4) which is provided with two arms, one in contact with the pusher (3) and the other in contact with the hook (5), continuously ensures their oscillation movements. Indeed, these two arms in constant opposition with respect to each other, exert a resistance on the mobility of the pusher (3) and the hook (5). For this, the spring (4) must first undergo a heat treatment. It is an indispensable process to obtain a good compromise between elasticity and resistance. Thus, according to FIG. 3, when the user actuates the mechanism by pressing on the pusher (3), the elasticity of the two arms of the spring (4) is solicited. According to Figures 1 and 5, the blade (2) is immobilized by means of the pusher (3) and the hook (5). The blade (2) comes from a side bearing on the front end of the pusher (3) and is held on the other side by the hook (5) which is housed in a notch made on the heel of the blade (2). During manufacture, it is necessary to provide a thickness of 5 material in this area to make a precise adjustment during assembly. During the unlocking phase, as shown in FIG. 3, the hook (5) pivots on its axis (11) by means of the pusher (3) by a single point contact thus making it possible to release the hinged blade (2). on its axis (6). The device represented by FIG. 4 shows the blade (2) in its closing phase. It has firstly a notch previously seen during the unlocking phase and secondly a part of the half-rounded heel whose center is on its axis of articulation (6) thus giving it a fluidity when it is closed. The heel of the blade (2) also has a difference in curvature, as shown in Figure 4, which aims to accelerate its closure. The device shown in Figures 2 and 6 shows the blade 20 (2) at the end of the race. The specific shapes of the blade (2) and the hook (5), itself held in pressure by the lower arm of the spring (4), keep the blade (2) in its closed position. This hook (5), which also acts as a stop, makes it possible to avoid contact between the cutting edge of the blade (2) and the inside of the spring (4). To open the blade (2), simply rotate it on its axis (6) to its position of use. During this phase, as shown in Figure 4, the hook (5) remains in pressure on the blade (2) throughout its opening; Only the lower arm of the spring (4) is biased. The blade (2) is secured between the two plates (1) only when it abuts against the pusher (3). The hook (5) is thus housed in the notch of the blade (2) and remains in pressure thereon through the lower arm of the spring (4).

The device according to the invention is intended for users of folding folding knives. It brings a novelty and a great ease of unlocking.
