Description

TECHNICAL FIELD The invention relates to a crankcase bearing of an internal combustion engine comprising a half-bearing formed in the housing itself and a bearing cap resting on a flat surface of the cylinder block, the bearing cap being fixed by screws on the cylinder block, the cylinder block having two walls forming a socket in which the bearing cap is recessed. On some engines, especially V6 engines, crankshafts are very bulky. As a result, the flanks of the arms and counterweights of the crankshaft are very close to the flanks of the bearing caps. The clearance between these two parts and of the order of a few tens of millimeters, which forces to completely machine the flanks of the bearing caps. As a result, the bearing caps must be accurately centered with respect to the cylinder blocks. In particular, it is necessary to be very precise and rigorous so that they are well positioned longitudinally with respect to the crankshaft. This centering is all the more delicate as the caps are tightly mounted in the crankcase. It is therefore very difficult to translate accurately in their housing because of the high tightening. Already known (DE 195 35 497) a crankshaft bearing in which the bearing cap is 2905995 2 centered with respect to the cylinder block by centering rings which surround the fixing screws of the crankshaft cap on the crankcase. However, in a bearing of this type, the caps are not mounted tight in the cylinder block. This solution is therefore not suitable in the case where the bearing caps are mounted tight on the cylinder block. The present invention therefore relates to a crankcase bearing of an internal combustion engine which overcomes these disadvantages. These objects are achieved according to the invention in that it comprises two centering feet fitted into the bearing and able to penetrate into two centering housings formed in the plane surface of the cylinder block, the centering feet having a length slightly greater than the height of the nesting. Preferably, the centering feet are fitted just sliding in the centering housing of the cylinder block. With these features it is possible to present the bearing cap and position it with respect to the cylinder block in a position where it is not yet embedded in the nesting walls of the cylinder block. It can therefore be moved freely at this stage of the assembly. When the centering feet of the bearing cap have been introduced into the centering housings formed in the flat surface of the cylinder block, the bearing cap is precisely guided and is consequently embedded directly with an optimum spacing with respect to arm and counterweight crankshaft. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent upon reading the following description of an exemplary embodiment given by way of illustration with reference to the appended figures. In these figures: FIG. 1 is a perspective bottom view showing the proximity of the crankshaft bearing flank flanges of the crankshaft arms; - Figure 2 is a view of a crankcase bearing according to the present invention; Figures 3 to 6 illustrate the various steps of mounting a bearing cap on a cylinder block according to the present invention. FIG. 1 shows a view from below of the linkage of a V-shaped 6-cylinder internal combustion engine. A crankshaft 2 is fixed on a cylinder block by a series of bearing caps 4 each fixed by four 6. As can be seen, the clearance between the flanks 8 of the bearing caps 4 and the flanks of the arms 10 of the crankshaft is very small. This game is about a few tenths of a millimeter. This is the reason why it is necessary to very accurately position the bearing caps 4 according to the length of the crankshaft. In FIG. 2, reference numeral 12 denotes a crankcase of the internal combustion engine. A half-bearing 14 has been formed in this crankcase. A flat surface 16 is formed on either side of the half-bearing 14. Two walls 18 located on either side of the flat surfaces 16 and perpendicular to the surfaces 16 form an interlocking having a certain height h. A bearing cap 4 is placed opposite the half-bearing 14. The bearing cap 4 comprises a complementary half-bearing 20 of the half-bearing 14. It also comprises two flat surfaces 22 complementary to the flat surfaces 16. A centering foot 24 is The centering feet 24 cooperate with housings 26 formed in the planar surfaces 16. Preferably, the adjustment of the centering feet 24 in the housings 26 is just slippery. The centering feet 24 have a height H greater than the height h of the walls 18 of the cylinder block. In this way, as can be seen in FIG. 3, it is possible to start introducing the centering feet 24 into the housings 26 while the ends 28 of the bearing cap 4 are still clear of the interlocking formed by 18. Since the bearing cap is centered, particularly along the length of the crankshaft, relative to the crankcase, it is possible to drive it as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. During this operation, the ends 28 of the crankcase Bearing 4 30 come into close contact with the vertical surfaces 18 of the cylinder block. When the bearing cap 4 has been fully depressed, as shown in FIG. 6, it is fixed by the four screws 6.
