Abstract

The equipment has reinforcing straps (5) extending from one transversal edge of a water receiving basin to another edge of the basin till the straps are stretchably fixed on a sundeck surrounding the basin. A stock cover has a canvas (1) spread on a rectangular surface edging four sides of the basin and is used above the straps. The straps have a ratchet loop (11) near one of ends fixed to the sundeck, where the loop connects a long strand (8) and a short strand (9) complementary to each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for covering a swimming pool.

Elle représente aussi une mesure de sécurité par rapport aux risques qu'encourent des enfants échappant à la surveillance d'adultes qui seraient attirés par l'eau ou tomberaient accidentellement dedans et qui pourraient se noyer. Il existe sur le marché des toiles de bâche qui conviennent à ce genre d'application, pour ce qui est par exemple de l'étanchéité ou de certaines propriétés mécaniques comme la résistance aux chocs. Le principal problème qui subsiste concerne leur mise en oeuvre pour cette application : il faut que la bâche soit commode à manier, et qu'en lui associant des moyens supports adaptés, on obtienne un ensemble facile à monter et à démonter, et qui ce faisant ne risque pas de plonger dans l'eau.
