Abstract

The cycle has a support mechanism for supporting tibia, including two mobile parts connected through a mobile axle fixed at its center to a frame by a ball joint. The mechanism supports knees of a cyclist in a semi-elongated position. A flexible support part, which is mobile and/or articulated, is positioned under the abdomen of the cyclist. A tube is fixed directly on a steering fork. A gear system or drive gear is provided between a pedal axle and a wheel axle.

Description

Of the possible stable positions of a being, 3 are

The sitting position of the bikes we all know, standing up bicycles scooters and lying on the back of some bikes. The standing position and 5-lying on the back does not offer much power, it is the sitting position which is the majority position. The problem of sitting on a cycle is that it creates a break in dynamics between the top and bottom of the body sitting on the saddle; that it also offers more grip in the wind and that often the stool is not very ergonomic. There is a current trend to improve the man-bike interface at the saddle by creating articulated saddles in 2 planes as evidenced by current patents. The problem then becomes reported on the body and it is found that these saddles represent a real danger for the spine, especially for the first vertebrae of the lower back, which encircle the movement of rotation and torsion that they provide. The seated position despite the power it provides by the quick possibility to stand up by weighing the weight of the body on the pedals, is also not very ergonomic as evidenced by cyclists bent on their gear. The device according to the invention overcomes these disadvantages, it is constituted so that the cyclist is positioned in a position different from the usual, in fact the cyclist is in an intermediate position to the position lying on the belly and at the so-called four-legged position where the weight of the body weighs on the knees and shins. The support on the cycle will therefore be on the arms, knees and under the belly eventually. The vertebral column thus released from any constraint can follow the body in a homogeneous way. The problem of knee support is that the knees and shins participate fully in the effort, it is necessary that they are supported by a mechanism that will not only support them but also support them in the dynamics of the pedaling effort. Always about positioning the cyclist, a support piece can be positioned under the belly, padded or not, to limit the force of gravity on the arms. But a cleat can also limit the forward shoulders to provide a fixed reference for a more powerful projection of the foot on the pedals in the ribs, providing a boost of power. On the other hand the support part of the cyclist disposed under the belly, whether padded or not, may be mounted mobile it is articulated or flexible to leave the trunk free of effort especially to maintain the oscillation and the rhythm of the pedalboard in the event that it is flexible. 2905928 -3 - Now let's take a look at the mechanism that will support the knees. In any case it consists of two moving parts in which the shins and knees arise, these moving parts are rather integral pedals which they represent an extension. But the role of these moving parts is not limited to the attachment of the knees. In the pedaling movement there is a symmetry of movement between the rising leg and the descending leg. Besides serving as a knee support the role of this mechanism is to support the entire symmetrical movement of the legs. For this we bind the / 19 shin supports by an axis being fixed to them by ball joints (sic!). This axis linking the tibia supports is fixed in its center to the frame of the cycle by a ball joint allowing a horizontal and vertical symmetrical and opposite movement in its center necessary to follow the symmetrical movement although opposite of the shins, which will be synchronized in this way. phase opposition. It remains to study the problem of the transmission, either by fixing the pedal above the rear wheel is made that the axis of the pedal is in the axis of the rear wheel. That is to say that the axis of the crankset becomes the axis of the rear wheel, Because after all that the wheel rotates on a fixed part or on a moving part, it is almost the same. But it is necessary in this case that the axis of the crankset which must be very resistant to be fixed to the frame by ball bearings outside the wheel. 2905928 -4 - The transmission then becomes very simple. It is sufficient to connect a gear secured to the axis of the crankset with the freewheel, fixed on the axis of the rear wheel. Either by a gear system or by a variator or any other spring system that allows the same effort 5ù depending on the terrain, this provision must even allow gear ratios higher than those of current cycles. Finally and lastly, the axis of the crankset can in the interests of compactness become itself an integral part of the gearbox for example by being grooved so that mobile gears 4 can be moved. As for the handlebar it can be replaced by two tubes fixed on either side of the steering fork, in the case of a two wheel, because nothing prohibits the device according to the invention to be transformed into a front tricycle or back. The device according to the invention takes too much against current habits to be able to be at the beginning only a cycle of competition, sports, entertainment, amusement or tricycle transport loads. But it is possible that its dynamics of effort, its low coefficient of penetration in the air, its ergonomics, its possibilities of - O to exceed the current ratio of multiplication of the cycle promises it with a good future.
