PROCEDE DE REALISATION D'AU MOINS UNE PARTIE DU CIRCUIT D'HUILE D'UNMETHOD FOR PRODUCING AT LEAST ONE PART OF THE OIL CIRCUIT OF A
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE MOTOR BLOCK AND MOTOR BLOCK OBTAINED BY SUCH A METHOD The present invention relates to a method for producing at least a portion of the oil circuit of an engine block of an internal combustion engine, including equipping a motor vehicle. An internal combustion engine enclosure typically comprises an engine block, which is a centerpiece of the engine, made of cast iron or die-cast aluminum alloy. The engine block is closed in height by the cylinder head and in the lower part by the oil sump. The engine block is machined to receive the crankshaft, the cylinder liners and the cooling water and oil circulations. In particular, the engine block comprises oil supply pipes for lubricating or supplying moving parts of the engine. According to a first known technique of the prior art, the oil pipe network is made by drilling after the molding of the engine block. Thus, by way of example, among numerous published documents, French Patent Application No. 2 680 387 is known in the name of the company known as: Régie Nationale des Usines RENAULT, which concerns a cylinder head for an internal combustion engine with a combustion engine circuit. pressurized oil, and this circuit comprises a main supply line which serves at least two separate branch lines. The main pipe is formed by a first oblique bore, and the bypass pipes are formed by a second bore intersecting the first bore. There are distributor means, at the intersection, to feed each of the secondary pipes. This technique of producing the oil circuit has the major disadvantage of requiring an additional machining step which is important, relatively complex, and expensive. In addition, it requires the use of specific plugs to close the non-functional portion of the hole of the cylinder head through the drill bit of the drilling operation. Another known technique of the prior art is to modify the core used to define the casting mold, so as to preform some elements of the oil circuit. Thus, it is known, according to the French patent application No. 2,793,174, a process for producing by molding an internal combustion engine cylinder head, of the type by which a metal alloy is cast into a mold containing cores. non-fusible corresponding to the recessed parts of the cylinder head such as combustion combustion chambers, intake ducts, exhaust pipes and water or oil chambers, and including in particular a monobloc core incorporating the shapes defining the combustion chambers and intake ducts. However, the use of such cores is not possible for pieces of complex shape. The object of the present invention is to provide a new process for producing at least part of the oil circuit of an internal combustion engine engine block, intended in particular for a motor vehicle, which eliminates drilling operations. oil pipes during the machining of the engine block, which eliminates the filler operations of the non-functional orifices of these holes, and allows the realization of complicated shapes. Another object of the present invention is to provide such a method, which allows to realize the oil circuit optimally with respect to the technical and functional needs. In other words, the object of the present invention is to provide such a production method, which makes it possible to produce the oil circuit without compromise of manufacture, in particular which makes it possible to produce sections of the oil circuit associating straight portions to curved portions, for example to fit the contour of the rolls. It is also an object of the present invention to provide such a novel method which allows gain on the raw material. Finally, it is also an object of the present invention to provide such a novel method, which is simple in design, easy to implement, reliable and economical. To achieve these aims, the present invention provides a novel method for producing at least a portion of the oil circuit of an internal combustion engine engine block, particularly fitted to a motor vehicle, which comprises the following steps, taken in combination: - a plurality of elements are made which each define a section of said part of the oil circuit, said elements thus obtained are assembled so as to form a tubular network defining the circuit part of oil to be produced, - said tubing network is set up in a mold for producing the engine block, - casting of an engine block material in the mold enclosing said tubing network, and cores non-fusible corresponding to the recessed portions of the engine block, the material of the elements being also non-fusible to the casting temperature of the molten engine block material so as to render the to the melt-resistant tubing during casting, and - demolding, to obtain the engine block enclosing said portion of oil circuit. The sections can be obtained by sintering, which method advantageously allows the production of relatively complex shapes. It is also possible to obtain them by other methods well known in metallurgy, such as, for example, steel molding, the use of drawn tubes or the so-called Metal Injection Molding or MIM process. It is also possible to combine sections obtained according to different techniques, for example by choosing a given technique for rectilinear sections and another technique for curved sections. Preferably, the elements defining, each, a portion of the portion of the oil circuit have a length of between 15 and 30 cm. More preferably, the length of said elements is of the order of 20 cm. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the elements each defining a portion of the portion of the oil circuit are assembled by simply fitting a male cylindrical end of an element into a female cylindrical end of a adjacent element. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the material of the sintered elements is a grade of iron-carbon sinter, preferably 0.10% by weight of carbon. The engine block material is preferably cast iron or an aluminum alloy. The molding of the engine block may be a die casting molding technique. The elements that each define a portion of said portion of the oil circuit may be rectilinear elements or curved elements, the assembly of which then makes it possible to marry in part the contour of the cylinders of the engine block, for example . The invention also relates to an engine block, characterized in that it comprises an oil circuit at least partly obtained in accordance with the production method as defined above. The engine block has an oil circuit of which at least a portion is not rectilinear. Advantageously, the non-rectilinear portion follows the contours of a cylinder.
Other objects, advantages and features of the invention will appear in the following description of a preferred embodiment, not limiting the object and scope of the present patent application, accompanied by drawings in which: FIG. 1 illustrates the shape of an oil circuit portion of an internal combustion engine engine block; FIG. 2 is a diagrammatic perspective view from above of an engine engine block; FIG. 3 is a perspective view, in section, of the engine block of FIG. 2, and FIG. 4 is a sectional view of a substantially tubular element defining an oil circuit section. of an engine block to be produced, according to the present invention. With reference to the drawing of FIG. 1, there is shown virtually an example of an oil circuit part, of general reference 1, of an engine block, reproducing the oil supply pipes without draw the engine block. In this example, the reference 2 designates the transverse main channel of the oil supply, the reference 3 the oil upflow channel to the cylinder head, the reference 4 the oil upflow channel from the filter to the main channel, the reference 5 the oil riser channel to the oil filter, the reference 6 the turbo feed channel, the reference 7 the crankshaft bearing supply lines, the reference 8 the nozzle supply lines in piston bottom. Such a distribution of the oil supply pipes is an example of an oil circuit - or part of an oil circuit - of an engine block. An example of an engine block, of general reference 10, is shown in the drawing of FIG. 2. It is a four-cylinder engine block 11. The engine block 10 is traversed along its length by the main transverse channel 2. The reference 12 represents three orifices which are plugged by plugs, because they are non-functional. On the other hand, by way of example, the feed apertures 13 for the crankshaft bearings are functional and, consequently, unobstructed. In the drawing of Figure 3, the engine block 10 is shown in a cross section. Reference numeral 14 denotes the feed oil channel of the main boom, and the reference 15 the return pipe to the oil filter. The two orifices 16 and 17 will have to be plugged by a stopper, because they are not functional: they are orifices which result from the drill bit machining of the oil pipes, which open out onto the outer surface of the block -motor 10, and therefore must be closed. As already mentioned, according to a technique of the prior art, the channels and the oil supply pipes in the engine block are made by machining (drilling) in the engine block out of the foundry, the non-functional orifices resulting from the crossing of the drill bits being then closed by plugs. Another technique of the prior art makes it possible to produce channels in a molded part by inserting cores during casting of the part, without causing one or more useless crossings of the part which must then be recapped, but this technique does not is not applicable to complex shaped parts, as is most often the case for the network of pipes that constitute the oil circuit of an engine block. According to the present invention, the method of producing the oil circuit - or at least part of the oil circuit - of the engine block 10 comprises the following steps: - a plurality of elements 20 are produced by sintering ( FIG. 4) which each define a portion of said portion of the oil circuit 1, and assemble said elements thus obtained so as to form an array of pipes defining the part of the oil circuit 1 to be produced, said tubing network is put in place in an embodiment mold (not shown) of the engine block 10, the casting of an engine block material in the mold enclosing said tubing network, as well as non-fusible cores corresponding to the recessed portions of the engine block, the material of the sintered elements 20 also being non-fusible to the casting temperature of the molten engine block material so as to make the tubing network resistant to the material in the melt during casting, and - the mold is removed, to obtain the engine block 10 enclosing said oil circuit portion 1. In the drawing of Figure 4, there is shown diagrammatically, the half-shell of an example of an element 20 defining an oil feed circuit section, produced by a sintering technique, known per se and very commonly used, which consists in heating a powder without leading it to fusion. Under the effect of heat, the grains are welded together, which forms the cohesion of the sintered part. In the present case, the powders are in fact agglomerated to form a preform (uniaxial compression in cold matrix, warm, impact, etc.), which is then heated to obtain a certain cohesion. Shaping and sintering can also be simultaneous. By way of non-limiting example of the object and the scope of the present invention, the element 20 can be made by sintering from a FC 10 sintered grade, which is an iron-based powder. at 0.10% by weight of carbon. The exemplary element 20, shown in the drawing of Figure 4, comprises a substantially tubular main portion with a pipe section 21, a secondary pipe 22 substantially perpendicular to the pipe 2905615 8 21, and assembly parts d 23, and female, end 24. The elements 20 - or elementary pieces - obtained by sintering are then assembled in the image of a Meccano type construction set, connecting the various elements 20 by their assembly ends. 23, 24, by simple fitting. Other assembly methods known from the prior art can be used. The assembly of the elements 20 makes it possible to form an array of pipes defining the part of the oil circuit 1 to be produced. The elements 20 have a length of between 15 and 30 cm, preferably of the order of 20 cm. A cylinder head conventionally having a length of about 60 cm, it is possible to make a transverse main circuit with three sintered elements 20 assembled. Then, the mold is opened by spacing its various elements in a manner known per se, and the different cores which define the recessed portions of the motor block 10, such as the cylinders, for example, and tubing obtained by assembling the sintered elements. The various elements of the mold are then closed again, and a conventional casting operation is carried out so as to obtain the molded motor block. The casting may be a die casting. The casting material is cast iron or an aluminum alloy. Unlike the various cores of the recessed portions of the engine block, which are extracted after casting, the tubing network is integrated into the engine block during casting. The material of the sintered elements 20 is non-fusible at the casting temperature of the molten engine block material: the tubing network is resistant to the molten engine block material. An advantage of the present invention is that straight or curved sintered elements can be made. By associating straight elements with curved elements, it is possible to integrate an oil circuit - or part of an oil circuit 1 - which partly matches the contour of the rolls, for example. In general, the present invention makes it possible to produce the oil circuit of the engine block at best in relation to the needs, and not with a compromise of manufacture. Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and represented above by way of examples; other embodiments may be devised by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and scope of the present invention.
