The present invention relates to a pusher device for actuating a brake booster. It also relates to a connecting device by simple contact between a lever bar and the end of an elongate part, in particular between a brake pedal and the end of a brake amplifier rod. It applies for example in the field of the automobile. A brake amplifier is a device that multiplies the force exerted by the driver's foot on the brake pedal, from a reserve of pressurized oil used as an auxiliary energy source. A brake amplifier receives the initial force at its nose, which has a rigid rod articulated around a ball joint. Thereafter, this rod will be called amplifier rod. The other end of the amplifier rod is connected to a brake pedal by a complex pivot link. At this end, the rod comprises a yoke, which is a metal mount that can carry an axis. The thickness of the pedal is arranged in the yoke. The assembly, constituted by the yoke and the pedal, is crossed by an axis, at the end of which is crimped a lockable clip on the stem. The axis thus constitutes a pivot connection between the brake pedal and the amplifier rod. When the brake pedal is actuated, it drives the rigid rod in a combined movement of translation and rotation. The pedal pushes the rod longitudinally through the axis, also imparting to the rod a translational movement. Simultaneously, the rod pivots about the axis and its other end is articulated slightly around the ball, connecting it to the nose of the brake booster. It is notably the translational movement exerted on the nose which actuates the brake booster. The assembly operations of the brake pedal are done in the assembly line of the vehicle, in conditions that are not very ergonomic because of difficult access. In particular, the axis and the clip are mounted by an operator without the possibility of automatic presence detection. For example, the 2905100 2 axis may be improperly engaged in the holes or the clip may be improperly locked or improperly seamed in the stem. The clip can also be totally forgotten. The braking function may not be ensured or be lost later, when the axis eventually falls. In view of the large number of vehicles produced on the present assembly lines and the criticality of the function impacted, the risks induced by such a delicate assembly are therefore considerable. The invention aims in particular to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks and to eliminate any risk of impairment of the connection between a brake pedal and an amplifier rod due to a mounting fault. For this purpose, the invention relates to a pusher device for actuating a brake amplifier under the action of a brake pedal. It comprises a rod connected by a first of its ends to the brake amplifier. It also comprises a rolling device disposed at the second end of the rod. It also comprises a guiding device limiting the movements of the rod to longitudinal movements of translation. When the pedal presses on the second end of the rod, the rolling device rolls along the pedal and the rod slides longitudinally in the guide device to exert pressure on the amplifier with its first end. Advantageously, the rolling device may be a roller whose axis of rotation is parallel to the axis of pivoting of the pedal and is carried by a yoke at the second end of the rod.
The invention also relates to a connection device by simple contact between a lever bar and the end of an elongated part, in particular between a brake pedal and the end of a brake amplifier rod, the lever bar longitudinally pushing the elongated member to exert pressure on a device connected at its other end by an articulated connection. The oblong piece has a rolling device at its end in connection with the lever bar. The oblong piece is inserted into a guiding device limiting its pivoting to the pivot axis of the lever bar. The lever bar presses against the rolling device 2905100 3 to push longitudinally the oblong piece, rolling rolling device following a rectilinear path along the bar. Advantageously, the rolling device may be a roller whose axis of rotation is parallel to the axis of pivoting of the lever bar 5 and is carried by a yoke at the end of the oblong part. The guiding device may allow the oblong piece only longitudinal translational movement. The shape of the lever bar may allow a fulcrum on the rolling device along the raceway closest to the longitudinal axis of the oblong piece. By strictly guiding the rod in a rectilinear motion, the invention described above still has the main advantages that it makes it possible to shorten the travel of the brake pedal and thus increase the sensitivity of the braking function. The lateral forces on the amplifier nose are also attenuated and the service life of the brake amplifier is increased. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description given with reference to the accompanying drawings which show: FIG. 1, in a perspective view, a connection according to the prior art between a pedal brake and a brake booster rod; - Figure 2, in a perspective view, an example of connection according to the invention between a brake pedal and a brake amplifier rod; FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of an exemplary guide of the invention forming a slide for a brake booster rod in a link. FIG. 1 illustrates in a perspective view a connection according to the prior art between a brake pedal 1 and a brake amplifier rod 2. The amplifier rod 2 comprises at its end a clevis 3 having two parallel vertical flanks 3a and 3b each pierced with a hole of the same 2905100 diameter 4, the two holes facing each other. The spacing between the flanks 3a and 3b of the yoke 3 being slightly greater than the web thickness of the brake pedal 1, which may be of the order of 6 millimeters for example, the pedal 1 is capable of being inserted between the flanks 3a and 3b of the yoke 3. The pedal 1 5 has a hole substantially aligned with the holes of the yoke 3 and the same diameter. In this way, the assembly formed by the pedal 1 embedded in the yoke 3 is traversed by an axis 4 whose body has a diameter slightly smaller than that of the holes and whose length is greater than the total thickness of the yoke 3 At a very small distance from one of its ends, the axis 4 comprises an annular cavity of diameter slightly smaller than its body and able to crimpably receive a clip 5 which can be locked to the rod 2 by pivoting. Introduced by this first end comprising the annular cavity and before crimping the clip 5, the axis 4 passes in the order: the sidewall 3b, the thickness of the pedal 1, the sidewall 3a. At its other end, the axis 4 has a stop 6 of diameter slightly greater than its body. This second end blocks the stroke of the axis 4 through the assembly formed by the yoke 3 and the pedal 1, this as soon as the annular cavity at the first end of the axis 4 is out of the sidewall 3a and it is accessible to crimp the clip 5. The crimping of the clip 5 in the annular cavity of the axis 4 allows a pivoting movement of the clip 5 about the axis 4 to a locking position of the clip 5 by pinching 2. The axis 4 thus constitutes a pivot connection between the brake pedal 1 and the amplifier rod 2. At its other end not appearing in FIG. 1, the rod 2 is hinged to the nose of the rod. a brake amplifier by a ball. FIG. 2 illustrates, in a perspective view, an exemplary embodiment of a connection according to the invention between a brake pedal 20 and a brake amplifier rod 21. The rod 21 is connected to the nose of a brake booster 30 by a ball joint not appearing in FIG. 2. The brake booster 30 is located behind an apron 29 which forms a separation wall between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment of the host vehicle. Advantageously, the amplifier rod 21 may comprise at its end a clevis 22 having two parallel vertical flanks 22a and 22b each pierced with a hole of the same diameter, the two holes facing each other to accommodate an axis 24. A roller 23 forming a small solid wheel and having a hole in its center, whose thickness is slightly smaller than the spacing between the sides 22a and 22b of the yoke 22 and whose diameter allows the alignment of the holes in the flanks 22a and 22b with the hole in its center, is inserted between the flanks 22a and 22b of the yoke 22. In this way, the axis 24 passes through the assembly formed by the roller 23 embedded in the yoke 22. The diameter of the roller 23 also allows that it rotates about the axis 24. The brake pedal 20 is disposed in exclusive support against the roller 23, allowing the roller 23 to roll along its 1 o slice. In particular, the pedal 20 does not touch any of the flanks 22a or 22b of the yoke 22. The pedal 20 can move only by following a rotational movement about a hollow axis 25 located in the upper part of the pedal 20, the axis 25 being parallel to the axis 24 of rotation of the roller 23. The axis 25 is the pivot axis of the lever bar that forms the pedal 20. The axis 25 may be a solid axis 15 and its location on the pedal 20 may vary as long as it remains parallel to the axis 24 and that its distance to the point of support on the roller 23 remains sufficient relative to the total length of the pedal 20 to generate a leverage effect. In the embodiment of Figure 2, the brake pedal 20 comprises a recess 26, which is representative of the present brake pedals 20 but is not necessary for the implementation of the invention. The brake pedal 20 is actuated by exerting an initial force on its lower part not appearing in Figure 2. It then pivots about the axis 25. The resulting effort at the point of support on the roller 23 is greater than the initial effort, leveraged.
The amplifier rod 21 slides longitudinally in a guide 27 forming a slide for the rod 21. The guide 27 is either integrally connected to an amplifier support 28 or integral with it, the guide 27 forming a protuberance towards the rod. inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. It ends with a U-shaped housing of section adapted to the rod 21. The amplifier support 28 makes it possible to fix the brake amplifier 30 to the apron 29, in particular by means of fastening screws of which only two screws 28a. and 28b are visible in Figure 2. In this way, no movement is allowed to the guide 27 relative to the support 28 and the deck 29, whether in translation or rotation. Of section adapted to the rod 21, the guide 27 35 slaves the rod 21 by limiting its movements. In the example of FIG. 2, the guide 27 presents to the rod 21 a U-shaped housing complementary to the square shape of the rod 21. However, other shapes can be envisaged, as long as the inner form of the guide 27 is complementary to the shape of the rod 21 and prevents the rotation movements of the rod 21 about its longitudinal axis. The guide 27 thus precisely directs the roller 23 relative to the pedal 20 so that it follows a substantially rectilinear raceway and centered throughout the edge of the pedal 20. In the example of Figure 2, the only authorized movement to the rod 21, which slides in the guide 27, is a longitudinal translational movement in the slide formed by the guide 27, either towards the front or toward the rear of the vehicle. It should be noted that the ball of the prior art providing the connection between the rod 21 and the nose of the brake amplifier 30 is no longer of any use, the rod 21 having no rotational movement allowed by the device according to the invention of the example of FIG. 2.
In the embodiment of FIG. 2, when the pedal 20 is actuated by exerting an initial force on its lower part and that it pivots about the axis 25, the roller 23 then rolls from bottom to top along the edge of the pedal 20 clockwise. Indeed, in this example, the pedal 20 comprises a hollow 31 slaving the rolling of the roller 23, the hollow 31 20 preventing the roller 23 from rolling up and down along the edge of the pedal 20 in the counterclockwise direction . The hollow 31 makes it possible in particular to ensure that, throughout the pivoting movement of the pedal 20 about the axis 25, the point of support of the pedal 20 on the roller 23 remains the closest point to a point A of the roller 23 located on the longitudinal axis of the rod 21. Indeed, it is this point of support of the pedal 20 on the roller 23 which ensures the best transmission of the initial braking force provided by the foot of a conductor to the rod 21. Through the fulcrum A, a maximum of effort is transmitted to the rod 21 along its longitudinal axis, which is the only axis of movement of the rod 21, ensuring optimum transmission 30 of the initial braking force to the amplifier. In other words, via the fulcrum A, a minimum of effort is transmitted to the rod 21 along its transverse axes, which are not axes of movement of the rod 21, thus reducing the initial effort of friction brake in the guide 27. By preventing the rotational movement of the rod 21 and permitting only a translational movement, the guide 27 also shortens the rolling path of the roller 23 on the pedal 20 and thus shortens the travel of the brake pedal 20. This improves the sensitivity of the vehicle when braking, which can be particularly useful in case of emergency braking. Furthermore, the establishment of the rod 21 in the slide 27 5 requiring special attention, the assembly of the amplifier 30 on the support 28 can be performed prior to mounting on the deck 29. Figure 3 illustrates a variant embodiment of the guide 27 forming a slide for the rod 21 in the example of Figure 2, a cross-sectional view at the U-shaped housing. In this variant, the amplifier rod 21 can move exclusively by following a translational movement along its longitudinal axis. Indeed, in this variant the guide 27 accommodating the rod 21 is completely closed, the guide 27 having a retaining cover 27a preventing the rod 21 to come out 15 even partially from the guide 27. An embodiment with a guide without cover can be envisaged, provided that the initial braking force is always oriented so as to press the rod at the bottom of the guide, which depends on the point of support of the pedal on the roller relative to the fulcrum A and therefore to the shape of the edge presented by the pedal to the roller. This is the case of the example of FIG. 2, where the use of a retaining cover is not necessary, the point of support of the pedal 20 on the roller 23 being situated above the ful point A. In all cases, failing to adjust the shape of the pedal to ensure that its fulcrum is located above the fulcrum A, a retaining cover can be attached to the guide. The mode of fixing the cover 27a on the guide 27 does not matter, except that it must allow a recovery of effort during braking. It is important to note that, the rod 21 being moreover articulated to the nose of the brake amplifier 30 by a ball joint allowing all rotational movements, it is the slide formed by the guide 27 which prevents the rotation of the rod 21 about its longitudinal axis, that the guide 27 comprises the retaining cover 27a or not The connection according to the invention by simply pressing the brake pedal 20 on the brake booster rod 21 considerably simplifies the task of a operator on the vehicle assembly line. Indeed, contrary to the solutions of the prior art, the connecting device according to the invention is 2905100 8 independent of the pedal: it is not integral even when assembled to the vehicle. In a first step, the connecting device according to the invention can be mounted on the amplifier support, outside the assembly line of the vehicle. In a second step, on the vehicle assembly line, the operator can attach the amplifier support to the deck. The rod and the roller located at its end are then positioned naturally. In particular, the roller is found at the exact location of contact with the edge of the pedal. If all the precautions are taken during the assembly of the device according to the invention, which is much easier off-line vehicle assembly through automatic presence detectors, the risk of forgetting a room or not to assemble correctly are almost null. Moreover, since the rod no longer has an angle of deflection, the through-hole of the apron can be reduced to the minimum so as to allow only the rod head to pass through the assembly, which contributes to the acoustic insulation of the rod. the cockpit.
