Abstract

The device has a foreign body e.g. finger, presence detection unit provided on peripheral edge of an opening (5) provided in a body shell (2) of a motor vehicle. The detection unit is connected to a control unit (20) that controls a blocking unit (10) of a swinging door (1) before the closing of the door during detection of the foreign body in the opening. The blocking unit has a lever (11) cooperating with a roller (7) of a door stop system. The lever is maintained in advanced and returned positions by electromagnet of the control unit to respectively permit and avoid closing of the door.
