Description

For access to the trunk, the upper part of it consists of a lid. This cover comprises a first substantially horizontal portion which extends rearwardly by a substantially vertical portion. This first part is generally at the same level as the body line of the vehicle that is to say that the lid extends rearwardly from the base of the rear window. This lid is hinged to one of its edges while the other edge is provided with a locking means. It is also known trunk lids that open in both directions to classically know from back to front by pivoting around the front edge and in the other direction from front to back by pivoting around from the back edge. These lids are generally used on so-called retractable roof vehicles in the trunk. To allow these maneuvers in one direction or the other, it uses so-called releasable joints that is to say that the joint plays both the role of lock and articulation. These joints located in particular at the front edge of the lid are supported by technical structures fixed under the underside of the cover to conceal them. These structures are necessary because one can not fix the joints directly on the sheet forming the cover. These structures penetrate inside the trunk and thus penalize the volume available especially for the storage of retractable roofs. It is also a question of freeing the space situated at the rear of the rear window and above the trunk lid this to improve the rear vision and to have a real cabriolet configuration. to bring a new solution. To this end, the invention relates to a trunk lid that can tilt from the front to the rear and from the rear to the front, comprising a portion extending rearwardly from the bottom of the trunk. rear window of a vehicle by closing the top of the trunk and a part pointing downwards closing the rear of the trunk, this cover being characterized in that each of the two front side edges of the cover is connected to the vehicle body by a set of two technical structures which, extending beyond the upper face of the lid, are articulated together in their upper parts along a transverse axis, one of the technical structures being secured to the lid, the second structure called support having a support and a locking means on the vehicle body, said sets being distinct. The invention will be better understood from the following description given by way of non-limiting example with reference to the drawing which represents: FIG 1: Perspective view of a vehicle with its roof covering the passenger compartment FIG. : Perspective view of a vehicle with a tidy roof FIG 3: Longitudinal section of a vehicle with an open trunk lid FIG 4 Longitudinal section of a vehicle with a lid operation to store the roof FIG 5 Perspective view of a vehicle FIG. 6 is a detail view of FIG. 5, the hubcaps being in place. Referring to the drawing, we see a lid 1 car trunk. This trunk lid can tilt from front to back and from rear to front.

It comprises a substantially horizontal portion AA extending rearwardly from the bottom of the rear window of a vehicle and a substantially vertical portion 1B facing downwards. Part A horizontal extends generally along the line of cash. For its opening in both directions, the chest is provided with joints at the front and the back. Remarkably, each of the two lateral front edges 2 of the cover is connected to the vehicle body by an assembly 3 of two technical structures 3A, 3B which, extending beyond the upper face 4 of the cover, are hinged together. in their upper parts along a transverse axis, one 3A of the technical structures being secured to the cover, the second so-called support structure 3B having a support and a locking means on the vehicle body, said sets being distinct. The articulation used between the two technical parts is a classic articulation that is fixed and therefore not releasable.

More specifically, the first structure 3A technique allows to resume the load of the cover by clinging along the side edge of said cover. It can thus extend far back to form an approximately triangular wing. The second structure 3B which serves as a foot for the articulation of the first structure can be more compact. That is to say, it extends little along the longitudinal axis of the lid.

It extends in part under the cover to find a support on the supporting structure of the vehicle body. As indicated above, this second structure 3B is used to position the lock at a low level and under the cover. In the example shown, the second structure is obtained from a shaped section to have in its lower part a broadly horizontal seat 25 which is extended upwards by a zone 6 inclined relative to the vertical extending by a vertical leg 7 at which leg is positioned the joint. The wide seat has a ring 8 or striker 8 in which engages a lock.

In the example illustrated, the lock is constituted by a hook actuated by a motor. In this case, this ring is under the seat and enters a cavity. Covers or hubcaps 9 can hide the technical parts and give a particular style to the vehicle. These two protuberances are thus carried by the lateral edges of the lid and 25 stop at the roof. The locking means have thus been dissociated from those of the articulation of the front edge of the cover. Above all, the technical structure necessary to stiffen the cover and take up the forces has been transferred above the upper face of the cover. For the locking means of the rear edge of the lid, releasable joints 10 are used.

Une vitre arrière 20 (formant lunette arrière) peut descendre par coulissement sur des glissière ( figure 4)  Advantage: the invention saves space in the trunk while clearing the space between the covers to the lid level. A rear window 20 (rear window) can slide down slideways (FIG. 4)
