La presente invention est relative aux glissieres de siege de vehicule automobile, aux sieges de vehicule et aux vehicules automobiles munis de telles glissieres. Plus particulierement, 1'invention se rapporte principalement a une glissiere de siege de vehicule automobile comprenant un premier profile et un deuxieme profile, lesdits profiles etant pour 1'un destine a titre fixe a un chassis de vehicule automobile, et pour 1'autre destine a titre rapporte a un element de siege de vehicule recevant uri passager, le premier profile etant monte coulissant par rapport au deuxieme profile le long d'une direction de coulissement, ladite glissiere comprenant en outre un element de verrouillage monte sur le premier profile, ledit element de verrouillage etant mobile par rapport au premier profile selon une direction transversale distincte de la direction de coulissement entre une position verrouillee dans laquelle it coopere a la fois avec les premier et deuxieme profiles pour empecher un deplacement relatif des profiles le long de la direction de coulissement, et une position deverrouillee dans laquelle it ne coopere pas avec le deuxieme profile pour autoriser ce deplacement relatif. A cet effet, selon 1'invention, une glissiere du genre en question est caracterisee en ce que 1'element de verrouillage est monte deplacable selon la direction de coulissement par rapport au premier profile depuis sa position verrouillee jusqu'a une position de securite dans laquelle un deplacement de 1'element de verrouillage par rapport au deuxieme profile dans la direction transversale est interdit. Grace a ces dispositions, on obtient une tres bonne 30 retenue de 1'occupant en cas de choc.
