Description

The invention relates to a photocatalytic cover element.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Photocatalytic blankets are used to reduce the olfactory nuisance of storage pits or settling lagoons containing polluted liquids, for example livestock effluents or residues from the agri-food industry. For this purpose, a photocatalytic covering composed of elements such as that illustrated in front view of FIG. 1 is installed over the liquid near its surface. It comprises a photocatalytic support 1 of which one surface is impregnated with activated carbon and the other surface is impregnated with titanium dioxide. Four eyelets 2 are arranged at the corners of the photocatalytic support. The element illustrated here is connected by flexible links passing through the eyelets to other similar elements to form a cover adapted to cover the liquid to be treated. The elements forming the edge of the blanket are attached to stakes or other hooking. The face of the photocatalytic support coated with activated carbon is arranged opposite the liquid. The active char-bon traps volatile pollutants exhaling from the liquid. These pollutants diffuse to the other side which, under the effect of solar lighting, becomes the seat of chemical reactions for the reduction of pollutants on the surface of titanium dioxide. The binding mode of said cover elements makes the photocatalytic substrate 1 suffer from high tensions due to the weight of the cover and possibly the effect of wind or rain on the cover. The photocatalytic supports have a structural function which requires reinforcing the resistance of the photocatalytic support 1 by means of a weave 3 made of glass fibers or the like applied to at least one of the faces of the photocatalytic support 1.

The placement of the eyelets and the armor on the photocatalytic support 1 contributes to increasing the manufacturing cost of such an element. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is a simpler photocatalytic cover element, which is therefore less expensive to produce. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION With a view to achieving this object, a photocatalytic covering element comprising a planar support bearing means for photocatalysis of chemical compounds to be reduced, the support being contained at least partially in a container which is permeable to the chemical compounds to be reduced and which carries means for its binding to one or more similar containers of adjacent cover elements. Thus, the tensions due to the assembly of the elements together are supported by the container so that the photocatalytic support no longer undergoes any voltage. The photocatalytic support can therefore be obtained very simply by cutting portions in a photocatalytic support strip, without the need to add a reinforcement or attachment points. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will be better understood in the light of the description which follows with reference to the figures of the appended des-sins among which, in addition to Figure 1 already dé-carillée, we find Figure 2 illustrating in front view a covering element according to a particular embodiment of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION With reference to FIG. 2, the covering element of the invention comprises a photocatalytic support 11 plane bearing on one of these faces of the active carbon and on the other of its faces the titanium. This photocatalytic support is here a cellulosic support which has been cut in a roll of photocatalytic paper. According to the invention, the support 11 is contained at least partially in a container 12 here made from a net 20. In practice, a net 20 having a length a little longer than the length of the support 11 is used. a width a little larger than twice the width of the support 11. The support is placed on the net 20 and the latter is folded so that the two faces of the support 11 are covered by the net 20. Then the edges are bound facing the net 20 to make a container 12 in which the support 11 is integrated. For this purpose, the edges of the thread 20 extending along a large edge of the support 11 are ligated. The thread 20 then forms a kind of sheath in which the support 11 extends. Then the two ends of the sheath are closed by means of cords 14 which are knotted to enclose at each knot two stitches facing the net, the strands 14 forming loops 15 between each knot (a single loop is referenced on each strand). The loops 15 allow the illustrated cover member to be joined to other similar cover members, for example by a flexible link (not shown). The container 12 thus produced is perforated and allows pollutants to reach the support 11. In addition, it supports all the tension forces that the cover is subjected to due to its weight or external demands such as rain or wind. The support 11 does not undergo any of these tensioning forces. It is therefore unnecessary to strengthen or add assembly members, which considerably reduces the cost of the cover element according to the invention. The invention is not limited to what has just been described, but on the contrary covers any variant falling within the scope defined by the claims. In particular, although the illustrated cover element comprises a container made from a net, any other container permeable to pollutants to be treated and carrying means of assembly thereof to other elements of the invention may be used. cover, such as a permeable fabric bag or perforated plastic provided with eyelets or rings. One can provide on the container an opening to change the photocatalytic medium without having to disassemble the cover.

Although in the example shown, it was expected that the support is completely contained in the container, the support can obviously include a portion that extends out of the container.
