The present invention relates to a motor vehicle seat. There are motor vehicles with three rows of seats. The third row is accessible by tilting the tier two seat. The tilting of the seat is in a known manner. The rear portion of the seat cushion is removably attached to the floor while the front portion of the seat seat is pivotally mounted to the floor. The seat can thus move from an unfolded position, in which the rear part of the seat rests on the floor, to a folded position, in which the seat is tilted around the front part of the seat, the rear part of the seat the seat being raised above the floor which releases a passage to the rear of the seat. Moreover, in this type of vehicle, there is very little room for the feet of the passenger of rank three. To solve this problem, it is known to provide the rear portion of the seat with feet that are removably attached to the floor. The feet of the passenger of rank three can thus slip under the seat of rank two, between the feet of the latter. It is also known, in order to maximize the passage, to mount the feet of the seat of rank two, pivoting under the seat cushion. Thus, once the seat of rank two is tilted forward, it is possible, by folding the feet against the underside of the seat, to optimize the passage space. Nevertheless, the feet of the seat must have a certain thickness to fulfill their support function and it turns out that, even folded under the seat, they interfere with the entrance of a passenger to the seats of rank three. The object of the present invention is to provide a tilting seat, of the type comprising at least one foot, which allows to free up a maximum of room for passage to the seats located behind him. This object is achieved by means of a device for fixing a motor vehicle seat, comprising a seat movable between an unfolded position and a folded position and a floor; the seat comprises a seat, pivotally mounted on the floor, at a first portion, for example its front portion, a second portion, for example the rear portion, the seat being, in unfolded position, supported on the floor by at least one foot, and being raised above the floor in the folded position, due to the tilting of the seat. Typically, according to the invention, the floor comprises a cavity adapted to receive at least a portion of the foot and the foot is movably mounted on the floor so as to be housed at least partially in the cavity when the seat is in the folded position. Thus, the foot being in the floor, it does not interfere with the entry of the rank three passenger in the vehicle when the seat of rank two is folded. The foot can be more or less depressed in the cavity depending on the space available. Preferably, the cavity is such that the foot folded in the cavity is flush with the floor to make maximum room. According to the invention, the foot can be introduced into the cavity by hand, by the user, or automatically slide into the cavity when the seat moves into the folded position. The mounting of the foot on the floor is not limited according to the invention, as well as the position of the foot in the cavity. Thus, the foot can be, for example, housed vertically or horizontally in the cavity. According to a particular embodiment, the foot is pivotally mounted substantially on the bottom of the floor cavity. According to a particular embodiment, the device of the invention comprises means for automatic tilting of the foot in the cavity which are controlled by the tilting of the first part (for example the front part) of the seat. According to a particular embodiment of these automatic tilting means, they comprise a transmission part driven in translation movement by the pivoting of the first part of the seat, a hook articulated on the foot and on the transmission part, and guiding means which guide the movement of the transmission part when it is driven in motion by the tilting of the first part of the seat so that the hook lies down in the cavity. Advantageously, the guide means comprise pins integral with the transmission part and guide channels in which the pins move.
The present invention, its characteristics and the various advantages that it affords will appear better on reading the following description of a particular embodiment which refers to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 represents a sectional view in a plane perpendicular to the pivot axis of the device of the invention, the seat being in its unfolded position; - Figure 2 shows the same section as Figure 1, the seat being in a first intermediate position, tilted towards the front of the seat; and - Figure 3 shows the same section as Figure 1, the seat being in its folded position.
Referring to Figures 1 to 3, the device of the invention comprises a seat 1 which has a seat 3. This seat is removably mounted on the floor 2 of the vehicle. The floor 2 comprises a cavity 21. The front portion 31 of the seat 3 is pivotally mounted about an axis X, transverse to the seat 3. The rear portion 32 comprises a foot 5 and fixing means 7 which allow the fastening removable foot 5 to the seat 3. The fastening means 7 may be, for example, of the type comprising a movable ball as described in EP 0605270. The foot 5 is fixed removably to the 3, at its first end 51. Its second end 53 is articulated on the floor 2, on the bottom of the cavity 21, at a Y axis, parallel to the X axis. The foot 5 can therefore to be folded on the floor 2, as shown in Figure 3. In the example shown, the device of the invention comprises means for automatic tilting of the foot 5. These means comprise a transmission part 9 substantially S-shaped which serves to transform the rotational movement of the seat 3 in motion translation, on the one hand backwards or forwards, according to the direction of rotation of the front portion 31 of the seat 3, and on the other hand, downwards and upwards to accompany the component vertical of the rotational movement of the front portion 31 of the seat 3. A first end 91 of this transmission part 9 is articulated on a plate 8 at an axis Z, parallel to the axis X. The plate 8 , substantially triangular, is secured to the front portion 31 of the seat 3 and is rotated about the axis X. The plate 8 is arranged so that the X axis is as far as possible from the end 91 of the transmission part 9. The other end 92 of the transmission part 9 is connected to a hook 93 which is articulated at an axis W, parallel to the axis X. The hook 93 is moreover articulated to the foot 5, at an axis V, parallel to the axis X. Pins 95, equipping the transmission part 9 at two places it slides in the guide channels 96, curvilinear and substantially parallel to the floor 2, so as to guide the movement of the transmission part 9 which therefore always remains in a position parallel to the floor 2 during its movement. The guide channels 96 are shaped such that the path of the axis W is an arc of circle identical to the arc defined by the axis Z, that is to say by the first end 91 of the transmission part 9. The operation of the device of the invention will now be described with reference to Figures 1 to 3. In Figure 3, for the sake of clarity, the guide channels 96 have not been shown. When the user wants to tilt the seat from its unfolded position to its folded position, it detaches the rear portion 32 of the seat 3 of the foot 5 and begins at the same time the tilting of the seat 1 towards the front portion 31 of the seat 3. During this tilting, the plate 8 drives the transmission piece 9 in translation towards the rear (arrow G in Figure 2) and, initially, to the floor 2 (arrow F1 in the figure 2), the pins 95 moving in the guide channels 96. When the pins 95 reach beyond half the length of the guide channels 96, the transmission part 9 is always driven in rearward motion ( arrow G in Figure 2) but it is also driven upwards (arrow F2 in Figure 2), that is to say, it moves away from the floor 2. During the progression of the pieces 95 in the guide channels 96, the pin 95 closest to the foot 5 passes under the latter r, which causes the hook 93 to tilt around the axis W. The hook 93 falls and then drives the foot 5 towards the floor 2 (see arrow H in FIG. 2); the foot 5 pivots and is housed in the cavity 21. In the example shown, the foot 5, once lying in the cavity 21, is flush with the carpet P covering the floor 2. When the user places the seat in its unfolded position, the reverse movement of rotation of the seat 3, causes in reverse movement the transmission part 9 which then moves towards the front portion 31 of the seat 3. The hook 93 then straighten up, restoring the vertical the foot 5. It is then sufficient for the user to fix the rear portion 32 of the seat on the first end 51 of the foot 5.
