Abstract

  The present invention relates to improvements made to portable and individual devices arranged for washing an eye, in particular a millet accidented for example to have received projections of chemical or the like.

  The document FR 2,682,036 in the name of the Applicant describes an individual portable device for bath of il, in which the edge of an opening of a reservoir is curvilinearly non-planar, approximately in saddle of horse, to form an illiterate. This device has been designed according to the constraints described above and, from this point of view, gives complete satisfaction in use.

  However, this known device has a disadvantage inherent in the fact that the positioning and holding in place of a cap sealing tightly non-planar edge of the opening are difficult to achieve.

  In addition, this known device was made with a small capacity tank (typically about 50 ml): the small volume of liquid available requires washing the eye very quickly (a few seconds) after the accident. If it is desired to extend the response time (for example of the order of a minute), it is necessary to have a much larger volume of liquid (for example of the order of 500 ml), which involves a much larger tank while its opening forming illiterate should keep the same dimensions. Such a device can not be manufactured economically in very large quantities in a material suitable for supporting a sterilization process in an air / steam autoclave.

  The object of the invention is therefore to remedy the disadvantages which have just been exposed and to propose an improved technical solution for constituting an individual portable eyewash device which gives better satisfaction to the requirements of the practice, in particular as regards maintaining the bladder in sterile condition until the device is used.

  For these purposes, the invention provides an individual portable device for bath of il, comprising a reservoir for a sterile bath liquid he equipped with a neck, a removable cap to close the collar, and a functionally associated illiterate tank, which device is characterized, being arranged according to the invention, in that the cup belongs to an insert which is inside the tank and to the neck and which is secured to the tank by means of assembly, and the collar comprises at least one elastically deformable portion axially and adapted to occupy two functional positions, namely: a first functional position or axially deployed position, wherein said deformable portion has a maximum axial length and surrounds the eyelid and said cap is in the closed position on the neck so that the entire cup is in contact with the sterile liquid, and - a second position or posit axially retracted ion, wherein, the plug being disengaged from the neck, said deformable portion can be retracted axially and disengage the eye so that the device can be used to bathe an eye.

  The arrangement according to the invention retains the structural simplicity and simplicity of use of the prior art device described in document FR 2,682,036, at the same time as the eyepiece is permanently maintained under sterile conditions until the use of the device. In addition, it is possible to give the device a structure allowing the injured person to manipulate the device alone to open it and apply it against his il.

  In a preferred embodiment, the axially deformable portion is arranged bellows.

  To give the device a structurally simple constitution with a minimum number of component parts, it is expected that the eyelet belongs to an end portion of the insert engaged through the neck, shaped tubularly and arranged to cooperate substantially sealingly with the neck .

  2889056 To simplify the assembly of the insert with the reservoir, it is advantageous that the insert comprises elastically deformable tabs engaged in the reservoir and elastic support against a complementary conformation portion thereof; in particular, the assembly means may comprise respective complementary reliefs respectively provided on the inner wall of the tank and on the lugs of the insert.

  The invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description of certain preferred embodiments given solely by way of non-limiting examples. In this description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 is a sectional view of a first embodiment of an individual portable device for eye bath arranged according to the invention, shown closed; - Figure 2 is a perspective view of the device of Figure 1 shown during opening, the outer body being drawn in spectral lines to make visible an inner component; - Figure 3 is a side view, rotated 90 relative to the representation of Figure 1, the device of Figures 1 and 2 shown open in the use position, the outer body being drawn in spectral lines to make visible an inner component; Figure 4 is a perspective side view of a second preferred embodiment of an individual portable eye bath device arranged in accordance with the invention; Figure 5 is a perspective side view similar to that of Figure 4, showing the device of Figure 4 in open position ready for use; and - Figures 6 and 7 are sectional views of the device of Figures 4 and 5 respectively along the lines VI-VI and VII-VII of Figure 4.

  Referring firstly to FIGS. 1 to 3, an individual portable bath device, designated as a whole by the reference numeral 1, comprises a reservoir 2 for a sterile eye bath liquid provided with a cervix. 3, a removable plug 4 to close the collar 3, and an illectarily associated 5 with said reservoir 2.

  The reservoir 2 is in the form of an oblong body, substantially flattened so as to facilitate its introduction into a pocket of a garment, as can be seen best in FIG.

  In addition, the neck 3 comprises at least one portion 8 elastically deformable axially and adapted to occupy two functional positions, namely: a first functional position or axially deployed position (Figures 1 and 2), wherein said axially deformable portion 8 has a maximum axial length and surround the eye 5; it is when the axially deformable portion 8 is in this position that the plug 4 can be in a closed position on the neck 3, so that the whole of the eye 5 is in contact with the sterile liquid contained therein. in the tank 2; and a second position or position retracted axially (Figure 3), wherein, the plug 4 being disengaged from the neck 3, the axially deformable portion 8 can be retracted axially (arrow 9 in Figure 3) and clear the eye 5 so that the device can then be used to bathe an eye.

  Advantageously, the axially deformable portion 8 is arranged in bellows 10; in the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 3, the bellows 10 is constituted by a single stage formed of a V-shaped rib projecting outwardly relatively pronounced, so that the user can easily crush between, below, its thumb and, above, its index and medius engaged on both sides of the neck 3, so as to achieve the crushed conformation of Figure 3. Of course, other arrangements are possible to obtain the same result .

  To constitute a reliable device, it is expected that the eyelet 5 belongs to an end portion 11 of the insert 6 which is engaged through the neck 3, which is tubularly shaped, and which is arranged to cooperate in a substantially sealed manner with the neck 3 so that in the inverted position for the washing of a il the liquid flows through the eye. It suffices for this, for example, that the insert 6, at least in its end portion, has an external conformation which closely follows the internal shape of the neck 3.

  To facilitate handling of the device in contact with the millet, it is preferable that locking means are provided to retain the deformable portion 2889056 axially in the retracted position releasing the eye; in a simple manner, it can be provided that these locking means comprise a rib 12 projecting radially surrounding said end portion of the insert 6 and which is adapted to bear on the edge of the neck 3 once the deformable portion axially retracted , as shown in FIG. 3. The neck 3 (or even the entire reservoir 2) consists of a material which has sufficient deformability so that, during the crushing of the bellows 10, the rib 12 passes into force in the collar 3 to the edge of it.

  It may be emphasized here that the resilient support of the rib 12 against the edge of the neck 3 contributes, to a certain extent to provide, in the use position, a relative seal between the reservoir 2 and the insert 6 contributing to the flow of the liquid through the eye, without specific sealing means need to be put in place.

  In the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 3, to form the assembly means 7 is provided that the end portion 11 of the insert 6 is extended towards the bottom of the tank 2 by tabs 13 elastically deformable and resilient support against a portion 14 of complementary conformation of the reservoir 2. More specifically, in this embodiment provision is made for this purpose that the tabs 13 extend substantially to the vicinity of the bottom 15 of the tank 2, which is shaped with a bead 16 projecting inwardly which defines a shoulder for the end of the legs 13 shaped hooks 17.

  The device according to the invention can be made of any material suitable for the intended application, and in particular synthetic material for the sake of robustness, lightness and ease of manufacture. A material such as polycarbonate could be used, but its brittle nature is not favorable. The preferred material is semi-flexible polypropylene which has the important advantage of withstanding the conditions of sterilization (typically 125 ° C. for 15 minutes).

  FIGS. 4 to 7 show another embodiment, which is preferred, of a device according to the invention, which retains the basic dispositions of the device of FIGS. 1 to 3, but which has some peculiarities facilitating its manufacture and its use. In these Figures 4 to 7, the same reference numerals are retained to designate parts or parts identical to those corresponding to Figures 1 to 3.

  Figures 4 to 7 note the very flattened shape of the tank to facilitate the wearing of the device in a garment bag. The bellows 10 is constituted by three stages of V ribs, which provides a relatively large axial crushing capacity while maintaining a modest transverse dimension which is substantially identical to that of the reservoir 2 as can be seen in FIGS. 5.

  The end portion 11 of the insert 6 is provided with elastically deformable lateral fingers 18 and approximately parallel to the end portion 11, which end with hooks 19 facing outwards. In the extended position illustrated in Figures 4, 6 and 7, the hooks 19 are engaged in respective groove portions 20 provided in the inner face of the neck 3 (these grooves appear projecting on the outer face of the neck 3 as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5), so that the insert is blocked both axially and transversely.   As for the legs 13 of the insert 6, they are arranged to bear against the two substantially flat opposite walls 21 of the tank 2 and extend substantially to the middle thereof. To constitute the assembly means 7, it is provided that the walls 21 are provided with indentations 22 inwardly in relief while the tabs 13 are provided with corresponding respective slots 23 adapted to receive these indentations 22 in relief.

  Thanks to the arrangements that have just been exposed, the insert is perfectly blocked inside the tank 2, while being easy to implement by simply snapping.

  It can also be emphasized that the device is first assembled (insert inserted into the reservoir, plug positioned on the neck) and is filled with liquid only afterwards. For this purpose, the tank 2 has its bottom 24 provided with an opening 25 which is sealed (as shown in Figures 4 to 7) after filling; the whole can then undergo the sterilization treatment. It is thus possible to separate the manufacturing sites of the device and the liquid conditioning.

Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the insert (6) comprises tabs (13) resiliently deformable engaged in the reservoir (2) and resilient support against a complementary conformation portion of this one.   5. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the connecting means (7) comprise respective reliefs (22, 23) complementary respectively provided on the inner face of the wall (21) of the reservoir (2) and on the tabs (13) of the insert (6).   6. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that locking means (12; 19, 20) are provided for retaining the axially deformable portion (8) in the retracted position releasing the eyelet (5). .   7. Device according to claim 6, characterized in that the locking means comprise a rib (12; 19) radially projecting supported by said end portion (11) of the insert (6) and adapted to bear on the edge neck (3) once the portion (8) deformable axially retracted.
