Le gond mâle qui est fixé au bâti devra pour ce faire, comporter une partie dentelé à sa base, pièce indissociable l'un de l'autre. Le gond femelle, en revanche comportera une pièce supplémentaire, amovible par rapport à elle même. Cette pièce supplémentaire sera également dentelée à sa base. Cette dernière étant libre par rapport au gond, elle pourra à volonté descendre ou monter par rapport au gond lui même. En position haute, les dentelures de cette pièce amovible seront éloignées des dentelures du gond mâle. Cet écart entre les deux pièces, permettra de faire fonctionner le gond mâle par rapport au gond femelle de manière traditionnelle. C'est à dire que tout utilisateur pourra ouvrir et fermer par exemple une fenêtre comme à son habitude sans utiliser le système. En faisant glisser la pièce amovible du gond femelle vers le gond mâle, nous activons le système. Les deux pièces présentant des dentelures à leur base, elles seront imbriquées l'une dans l'autre et permettront ainsi un bridage de l'une par rapport à l'autre.
