Abstract

The medium has a deformable or frangible thin film (2) on which a barcode (4) is printed. The film has incipient break lines distributed in a manner that the film is deformed, during a removal attempt of the film, for not allowing the reading of the barcode by a reading device. An adherence coefficient of a paste is determined such that a tearing resistance is greater than a deformation or breaking threshold of the film.

Description

The present invention relates to a tamper-proof support for bar code.

  In general, it is known that at present a large part of the barcodes used in the trade are printed on labels which are stuck on the product or on its packaging.

  The disadvantage of this solution lies in the fact that it is easy to tear these labels and then affix them on another item of higher value.

  At checkout, the price raised after reading the barcode will therefore not correspond to the actual price of the item.

  It turns out that this falsification is commonly used in distribution centers and generates relatively large losses.

  The object of the invention is therefore more particularly to eliminate this drawback.

  For this purpose, it proposes a bar code support intended to be glued on an article or on a package, characterized in that it consists of a film at least partly deformable or frangible, on which is printed said bar code such that during a detachment attempt, this film undergoes a deformation making it impossible to read the bar code by a reading device.

  Of course, to allow its manufacture by gluing on an object, this film may be coated on one side with an adhesive layer optionally protected by a protective film. The coefficient of adhesion of this adhesive layer is determined in such a way that the peel strength is greater than the threshold of deformation or rupture of the film.

  In addition, this support may include breaking initiation lines distributed so that during an attempt to detach, only a portion of the support is detached and that, it is not possible to reuse the support with the entire barcode on another article.

  Advantageously, at least part of the precut lines is oriented parallel to the bars of the bar code.

  Similarly, these precut lines can make a grid on the support.

  Embodiments of the invention will be described hereinafter, by way of non-limiting examples, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic sectional view of a support according to the invention made from a flexible film; Figure 2 is a perspective view showing the deformations of the film during an attempt to tear the support; Figure 3 shows a bar code carrier having precut lines; FIG. 4 is a diagrammatic section along AA 'of the support shown in FIG. 3.

  In this example, the support 1 consists of a thin film 2, for example of plastic, easily deformable or frangible, having an upper face 3 on which is printed a bar code 4 whose bars extend transversely relative to the longitudinal axis of the film.

  The lower face of this support is coated with a layer of adhesive material 5 protected by a protective film 6.

  This film must be removed before bonding the support on the surface of the object. If, after this bonding, an attempt is made to tear, the pulling force exerted on the film causes its deformation and that of the bars of the code present on the deformed part.

  Thus, even in the case where it is possible to tear the film without tearing it, the medium becomes unusable and can no longer be used on another object (FIG. 2).

  In the example shown in Figure 3, the film comprises a plurality of longitudinal precut lines 7 and transverse 8 arranged so as to form a grid. These precut lines 7, 8 can be obtained by conventional means such as creasing or perforation.

  In use, the protective film 6 is removed so as to stick the support 1 on a product or on a package. This operation can be performed using automatic or semi-automatic means.

  2870620 -4- Once glued, the support can no longer be peeled off without losing its integrity.

  Only a fraction of the support delimited by the precut lines 7, 8 will be torn off at once.

  It is therefore no longer possible to reuse the support 2 and its barcode 4 on another article to falsify the price.

claims   1. tamper-proof support (1) for barcode, intended to be glued on an article or a package, characterized in that it consists of a thin film (2) at least partially deformable or frangible on which is printed said code , so that during an attempt to detach, this film undergoes a deformation making it impossible to read the bar code (4) by a reading device.   2. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that the coefficient of adhesion of the adhesive used for bonding is determined so that the tear resistance is greater than the deformation threshold or rupture of the film (2 ).   3. Support according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the film (2) comprises breaking initiation lines (7, 8) distributed so that during an attempt to detach, only a portion the media is detached and as a result, it is not possible to reuse this medium with the entire barcode on another article.   4. Support according to claim 3, characterized in that at least a portion of the precut lines (8) is oriented parallel to the bars of the bar code (4).   5. Support according to one of claims 3 and 4,   characterized in that the precut lines (7, 8) form a grid on the support (1).   2870620 -6- 6. Support according to one of claims 3 to 5,   characterized in that the aforesaid perforation lines (7, 8) are made by creasing or perforation.
