Abstract

L'invention concerne une bougie d'allumage à effet de surface formée d'un corps isolant (12) et pourvue d'une électrode de masse (16), dans laquelle le corps isolant s'étend dans une direction privilégiée (D) et se termine par une face d'extrémité (13) sensiblement plane.Le corps isolant est traversé sur sa périphérie par au moins deux électrodes (11) alimentées en haute tension dont une extrémité en forme d'ergot (14) fait saillie de la face d'extrémité du corps isolant, chaque ergot s'étendant dans une direction prédéterminée. Pour chaque électrode haute tension (11), une contre-électrode (15) reliée à la masse est insérée dans le corps isolant, son extrémité étant localisée sensiblement à l'aplomb de l'ergot de l'électrode haute tension correspondante de manière à générer une amplification suffisante du champ électrique au niveau de l'extrémité de l'ergot pour faire jaillir une étincelle vers l'électrode de masse lors de l'application d'une haute tension à l'électrode haute tension.
