Abstract

The assembly has two rails (1, 2) on which two carriages (9, 13) move to and fro. The carriages are connected by a cord (4) traversing the rails on a pulley (15) under flanges (5). The carriage (9) has two rows of ratchets which drive alternately a tight chain (8) using two toothed wheels (6, 7), where the wheel (6) is integrated to the flanges. Force is vertically exerted on the carriages through cranks (18, 19) fixed on the carriages.

Chaque chariot possède une manivelle fixe orientée verticalement vers le bas et voit sa course limitée par des butées au bas de chaque rail. En réalisant un appui sur la pédale de droite, le cycliste lève ainsi celle de gauche par l'intermédiaire de la corde et entraîne directement la chaîne tendue.
