Abstract

The article has a body (2) made of a transparent material e.g. glass, and a neck (3) which is closed by a closure. The body has a plane face (5) overlaid with a hologram (6). The hologram is arranged for producing a holographic image of a scene, where the scene is composed of an object placed behind a transparent face. The hologram is provided on a film before the fixation of the film on the article. An independent claim is also included for a process of manufacturing an article.

Description

The present invention relates to articles comprising a hologram.

  It is known from Japanese Patent Application JP 9-226770 to arrange a hologram on the outside of a bottle, such a hologram being able for example to contribute to the aesthetics of the bottle and / or to serve as a security element allowing authenticate the origin.

  Also known from patent application EP 0 403 134 a case for receiving a bottle, this case having a window on which is fixed a transparent hologram.

  The patent application US 2000/0029501 describes a bottle into which a hologram has been introduced. The contact of the hologram with the product present in the bottle complicates the realization thereof, because the material of the hologram must be compatible with the components of the product.

  In addition, the incident light used to restore the holographic image is refracted through the liquid contained in the vial, which can alter the image and make it dependent on the degree of filling of the vial.

  There is a need to increase the attractiveness of containers, particularly those used for packaging cosmetic products, including care products, without unduly complicating their manufacture or imposing restrictions on the nature of packaged products.

  The invention aims, among others, to meet this need.

  The invention thus has, according to one of its aspects, an article comprising a hologram able to generate a holographic image of a wall, creating the illusion that it belongs to the article.

  A holographic image is understood to mean an image capable of reproducing, at least under certain lighting conditions, three-dimensional aspects of a scene with, where appropriate, shadows and / or reflections and an effect of depth.

  Hologram refers to any type of hologram capable of rendering a holographic image under certain lighting conditions. This hologram can for example be volumic, transparent, unlike rainbow holograms, which are a special case of transmission holograms. Rainbow holograms have a reflective surface at the back.

  The hologram may be for example a Lippman hologram.

  The hologram may in particular be a hologram by reflection, releasable in white light, in color or not.

  By hologram by reflection is meant a hologram whose acquisition of the recorded information can be done for example according to the technique described on page 23 of the publication Holography Market Place, 8th Edition, edited by Alan Rhody and Franz Ross.

  The hologram can still be a synthetic hologram, obtained by computer calculation.

  The hologram may be able to generate an image of an object, besides the wall.

  The hologram may be suitable for example to generate an image of the object at least partially behind the wall. The hologram may still be able to generate an image of the object at least partially out of the article.

  The hologram may be able to create the illusion of a backward-extending decor, beyond the article.

  Thanks to the invention, it is possible in particular to give the impression that an object is present in the article, for example behind a wall thereof, without encountering the problems related to the inclusion of the hologram in the article, as in the aforementioned US application 2000/0029501. The holographic image of the wall can for example be reflected by the presence of reflections, a distortion of the image of the object or a lens effect or refraction, giving the impression to the observer that the wall exists and the object is placed behind it, for example.

  In the absence of a holographic image of the wall, the observer might have the impression of a hole through the article as he observes the holographic image.

  The hologram can be on the outside of the article, which avoids contact with the product. The hologram may be disposed on an outer face of the article, in particular a substantially flat face.

  The hologram may be attached to a wall of the article, for example being bonded to this wall.

  The hologram can also be made at least partially with the wall of the article, which serves for example to support an emulsion.

  The wall of the article carrying the hologram may be at least partially transparent, in particular completely transparent.

  The hologram may be substantially transparent under lighting and / or observation conditions where the holographic image is not rendered.

  The article may be hollow. The article may in particular at least partially constitute a container, including a bottle, a bottle, a glass, a housing, a tube, a packaging, or a stopper.

  The article may contain a liquid, in particular a transparent liquid, for example a perfume.

  The holographic image may be arranged to evoke a characteristic of the product contained within the article, for example its shape, color, scent or composition.

  The invention further relates, in another of its aspects, a method of shooting comprising the step of: acquiring a holographic image of a decor and an at least partially transparent wall.

  This at least partially transparent wall may belong to a model of an article, in particular a container. The model can substantially correspond to a portion, including a half, of the container.

  The decor may include an object placed behind the aforementioned wall, or alternatively placed in front of this wall, or on either side of the wall.

  A gap between the wall and the object can be filled with a liquid, if any. The model can be transparent.

  The invention further relates, in another of its aspects, to a method of manufacturing a hologram, comprising the following steps: exposing a photosensitive emulsion under conditions enabling it to record a holographic image according to a method of shooting as defined above, - realize from the emulsion thus exposed a hologram.

  This hologram can be used, if necessary, master hologram to allow the production of copies.

  According to another of its aspects, the subject of the invention is also a method of manufacturing an article, in particular a container, comprising one of the following steps: - producing a hologram according to the method defined above, directly on the article, or - realize the hologram according to the method defined above, separately from the article, then report it on the article or make a copy from a master hologram and report this copy on the article.

  The invention also relates to a method for promoting the sale of an article, in particular a cosmetic article, comprising exposing the article to selected illumination conditions so that the public can observe the image generated. by the hologram.

  The invention will be better understood on reading the following detailed description, non-limiting examples of implementation thereof, and on examining the appended drawing, in which: FIG. schematically and partially, an article comprising a hologram according to the invention, - Figure 2 schematically and partially illustrates a method of shooting according to the invention, - Figures 3 to 5 illustrate different configurations of the object and the model at acquisition, and - Figures 6 to 10 show schematically other examples of items with a hologram.

  There is shown in Figure 1 an article 1 comprising a body 2 made of a transparent material, for example glass or plastic, optionally colored. This article is in Figure 1 a bottle for containing a cosmetic product such as a perfume, for example.

  This bottle has a neck 3 adapted to be closed by a cap, not shown.

  The body 2 has a substantially planar face 5 covered externally with a hologram 6, the latter being arranged to generate a holographic image of a scene composed in the example illustrated by an object 10 placed behind a transparent wall, creating the illusion that this object is in the bottle.

  In the example considered, the hologram 6 is attached, for example glued, to the bottle, the holographic image being present on this film before fixing it on the bottle.

  As a variant, the hologram can be produced in situ by exposing, for example, a holographic photosensitive emulsion deposited on the face 5 of the bottle in an appropriate manner, then by developing this emulsion and possibly adding a protective film.

  The acquisition of the holographic image intended to be recorded in the hologram 6 can be done for example according to the diagram represented in FIG.

  The object 10 is placed behind a model 11, as illustrated in FIG. 3, illuminated by the light produced by a laser 12. The beam 13 generated by it is reflected by a first semi-transparent mirror 14 towards a second mirror 15 and then directed by a lens 16 on the stage which is to acquire a holographic image, namely the object 10 placed behind the model 11, the latter having a transparent front wall 17.

  The other part 18 of the beam which passes through the mirror 14 is reflected by a set of mirrors 19 and 20 to a lens 21 which illuminates the scene through a holographic photosensitive emulsion 22. The optical paths are chosen appropriately.

  Reference may be made to the aforementioned Holography Market Place publication concerning holographic image acquisition techniques, as well as to the many existing works, in particular that entitled The Complete Book of Holograms. Joseph E. Kasper and Steven A. Feller, Dover Publication, Inc., Mineola, New York, the contents of which are incorporated by reference.

  The holographic emulsion 22 may comprise, for example, a silver emulsion, a bichromatic gelatin or a photopolymer, this list not being limiting. As an example of photosensitive emulsions, reference may be made, for example, to US Pat. Nos. 4,258,111 and 4,720,441 and to European Patent Application EP 980,025.

  In the example considered, the model 11 is entirely transparent and the object 10 is placed entirely behind its front wall 17.

  The model 11 may constitute, for example, a replica of a part of the article 1 intended to receive the hologram 6.

  In the example of Figure 3, the model 11 thus substantially replicates the front portion of a bottle, for example the front half thereof, the object 10 being held in position by appropriate means, which will not appear on the holographic image, because for example hidden by the object 10.

  Of course, the object 10 may be placed differently relative to the model 11 and in particular may be placed in front of it, as illustrated in FIG. 4, or as illustrated in FIG. 5 may be partially included in the front wall 17 and cross it, for example through an opening 23.

  The object 10 shown in FIGS. 3 to 5 can of course be replaced by any decoration, in particular a decoration whose dimensions are greater than those of the article intended to receive the hologram 6.

  Once exposed, the holographic emulsion 22 can be developed and serve as a master hologram for making copies.

  As a variant, the holographic emulsion 22 is carried by a suitable substrate and constitutes, after development, at least partially the hologram 6, this latter then being fixed on the corresponding article.

  In a further variant, the holographic emulsion 22 is carried by the article itself.

  The hologram 6 may be fixed elsewhere than on the body of a bottle, for example on one face of a stopper 24, as illustrated in FIG.

  The hologram 6 may also be associated with an article 1 which constitutes a container other than a bottle, for example a case, as illustrated in FIGS. 7 and 8.

  The housing shown in these figures comprises a lid 30 and houses for example a product roll 31. The hologram 6 may be fixed for example on the upper face of the lid 30, as shown in Figure 8, slightly convex.

  The lid 30 may be transparent or non-transparent. In the latter case, the hologram 6 may give the impression to the observer that the housing has a transparent window, behind which is placed an object. The holographic image can in particular represent an object actually present in the housing, for example the product bread 31. This can then give the impression to the observer that he sees through the cover and create an additional aesthetic effect.

  To proceed with the acquisition of the holographic image in the case where the hologram 6 is located on a non-transparent wall of the article, the model 1 used can be a replica of the article made of a transparent material.

  FIG. 9 illustrates the possibility of providing a box or a cardboard case, for example a package, with the hologram 6 on one of its faces. This hologram 6 may for example generate a holographic image of a replica of an object contained in the box.

  FIG. 10 illustrates the possibility of providing a lipstick case with the hologram 6, it being understood that the invention still applies to other kinds of containers.

  The conditions of restitution of the holographic image depend on the technique used to acquire it.

  Preferably, a technique will be used that allows the holographic image to be rendered in white light, for example sunlight or that emitted by an incandescent lamp. The light of a laser can still be used, if necessary.

  In particular, it will be possible to arrange an article provided with a hologram made according to the invention in a place of sale, under lighting conditions such that the holographic image can be perceived by the greatest number.

  Throughout the description, including the claims, the phrase having one must be understood to be synonymous with at least one, unless the opposite is specified.

  1. Article (1) comprising a hologram (6) capable of generating a holographic image of a wall (17), creating the illusion that it belongs to the article.   2. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hologram (6) is able to create the illusion of a decor extending rearwardly beyond the article.   6. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hologram (6) is a reflection hologram.   7. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is hollow.   8. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hologram (6) is disposed on an outer face (5) of the article.   9. Article according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the face (5) is substantially flat.   10. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hologram (6) is attached to a wall of the article.   11. Article according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the hologram (6) is glued to the wall of the article.   12. Article according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the hologram (6) is formed at least partially with the wall of the article.   13. Article according to any one of claims 10 to 12, characterized in that the wall of the article carrying the hologram (6) is at least partially transparent.   14. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hologram (6) is substantially transparent, under lighting conditions or observation where the holographic image is not restored.   15.
