Abstract

The cap (1) has a visor (2) and an elastic strip (3) to retain it in place. The cap has a cut out (4) on at least part of its periphery and the elastic strip cooperates with the cap at the cut out and is visible at the cut out. The cut out can have a line of edging (5) parallel to the lower edge of the cap. The elastic strip can have the same height as the cut out.

Description

The present invention relates to a headgear, and more

  particularly a cap, visor and the like, in particular intended for a

  sports or leisure use or in an advertising context.

  Several types of headgear entering this field are known in the prior art. In particular, some of these articles are provided with means for adjusting them to the head circumference of the person wearing it. Such items are said to be "one size fits all", since they can be made from a single pattern, while being adaptable to

different morphologies.

  For example, there is known an assembly in which a cap is provided, at the rear, with two flexible bands. One, called male, is provided with regularly spaced pins, the other, called female, includes eyelets which can cooperate with the pins. This allows you to adjust the

  cap, by selecting the most suitable pin-eyelet pair.

  However, such a set allows only a finite number of different positions, which may not be suitable for some people:

  either by being too tight or too loose.

  In another embodiment, a strip of fabric passes through a loop, to more or less tighten the cap around the wearer's head.

  This set provides greater adaptability, but, as elsewhere in the previous case, it requires a large number of manufacturing steps. Furthermore, it does not make it possible to solve another problem which arises with this type of article, especially in sports use: the absorption of perspiration.

  Finally, in the context of advertising use, it is essential that such an article be customizable and easy to manufacture, in a short period

  of time, possibly in small quantities, but for a reduced cost.

  A cap is also known which is provided with an elastic inner band absorbing at its base, sewn over its entire periphery, along the inner wall of the cap. The making of this cap therefore requires the use of a stretch fabric, and does not meet

  the aforementioned advertising imperative.

  The object of the present invention is to provide an article of headgear which overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks.

  In particular, an effort will be made to propose an article of headgear of easy confection, of one-size-fits-all type at least for a given population, that is to say which can adapt to heads of different diameters, and which has the ability to adapt to advertising needs in particular. Another object of the present invention is to provide an article

  with a low manufacturing cost.

  Other objects and advantages of the invention will appear in the description which follows, which is given for information only and which is not intended

aim to limit it.

  The invention relates to a headgear item, consisting of a

  cap, open or closed, provided with a visor and elastic means cooperating with said cap, characterized in that said cap has a cut at least on part of the periphery of said cap, and in that said elastic means cooperate with said cap at said cut and remain visible at said cut.

  The invention will be better understood on reading the description, accompanied by the accompanying drawings, among which:

  - Figure 1 is a left profile view of a headgear item, cap type, according to the invention, - Figure 2 is a perspective view, from below, of the item of Figure 1, - Figure 3 is a left side view of a headgear item, visor type, according to the invention, - Figure 4 is a sectional view along line IV of Figure 30 1, showing how said elastic means cooperate with said cap,

at the level of said cutout.

  The present invention relates to a headgear item, for example a cap, as illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, or a visor,

as shown in Figure 3.

  The difference between these two types of articles lies in the cover 1, which can be opened or closed. When said cap is open, as in the case of a visor, the latter only girdles the wearer's head, and can serve as a support for a visor 2 and, for example, for a sweat-absorbing headband. When the cap is closed, as in the case

  a cap, it can also protect the wearer's head from the sun.

  In addition, a headgear article according to the invention is

  provided with elastic means 3 cooperating with said cap 1.

  According to the invention, said cap has a cutout 4 at least over part of its periphery and said elastic means 3 cooperate

  with said cap 1 at least at the level of said cut 4.

  Thus, the article is adaptable to different morphologies, at least for a given population. A population, considered as homogeneous, that is to say for which one can predict a single size, perhaps that of children, or that of women, or that of men by

example.

  Said cutout 4 can be provided along an edge line 5 substantially parallel to the lower edge 6 of said cover 1 and over a height

  h with respect to said lower edge.

  As illustrated in Figure 2, said elastic means 3 can be arranged over the entire periphery of said cap.

  In addition, the elastic means 3 are able to conceal said cutout 4. In other words, the cutout 4 is filled by said elastic means 3 which take place there, and the latter are visible from the outside of the article.

  Said elastic means can thus serve as an advertising medium.

  Thus, advantageously, said elastic means 3 are in the form of an elastic ribbon whose width I corresponds to the

  less at the height h of said cut 4.

  According to the invention, the upper edge 7 of said elastic tape is sewn to said cover 1 at the level of said selvedge line 5.

  The main seams are shown in Figures 1 to 3 by dotted lines. Thus, as illustrated in FIG. 2, at the level of said cutout 4, the seam 8, between said cover 1 and said elastic tape 3, follows the edge line 5. Then, at the level of the visor, in front of the headgear article according to the invention, the seam between said elastic tape and said cap 1 follows the lower edge of said cap. In this case, it is therefore the lower edge 9 of said elastic tape which is sewn at the lower edge.

  As illustrated in FIG. 4, the lower edge of said cover 1, at the level of said cutout 4, is folded inwardly, to form said edge line 5. Said elastic tape is sewn to said fold, which therefore constitutes

a hem.

  According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, said cap 1 can be made of an inextensible fabric. These will include

  cotton-based textile, or synthetic fibers.

  Said cap can also be made of an extensible fabric.

  In addition, said elastic tape will consist of an elastic textile, as can conventionally be used in headgear or in the

  wider area of clothing.

  According to a particular characteristic of the invention, said cover 1 is closed and made up of pieces of fabric 10, made in the shape of a hemisphere. According to another particular characteristic of the invention, said cap 1 is in the form of a strip 11, as

illustrated in figure 3.

  According to the invention, said visor 2 may consist of a thin shape, made of a rigid material, wrapped in fabric. We can choose for example plastic or cardboard and give the visor 2 a flattened shape

or rounded.

  Naturally, other modes of implementation, within the reach of those skilled in the art, could still have been envisaged without going out

of the scope of the invention.

  1. Headgear article, consisting of a cap (1) open or closed, provided with a visor (2) and elastic means (3) cooperating with said cap (1), characterized in that said cap (1) has a cutout 5 (4) at least over part of its periphery, and in that said elastic means (3) cooperate with said cap (1) at least at said level   cutout (4) and remain visible at said cutout (4).   2. Article according to claim 1, wherein said cutout (4) is provided along a selvedge line (5) substantially parallel to the lower edge (6) of said cap (1) and at a height h relative to said edge lower (6).   3. Article according to claim 1, wherein said elastic means (3) are arranged over the entire periphery of said cap (1).   4. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, in which said elastic means (3) are presented under the   shape of an elastic ribbon whose width I corresponds at least to the height h of said cutout (4).   5. The article of claim 4, wherein the upper edge (7) of said elastic tape is sewn to said cap (1) at said edge line (5).   6. Article according to claim 5, wherein the lower edge of said elastic tape is further sewn at the lower edge (6) of   said cap (1) at least at the front of said cap (1).   7. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, in which said cap (1) consists of a textile inextensible.   8. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, in which said cap (1) is closed, and made up of parts   of fabric (10) made in the shape of a hemisphere.   9. Article according to any one of claims 1 to 7,   wherein said cap is in the form of a strip (11).   10. Article according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said visor (2) consists of a thin shape, of a rigid material, wrapped in fabric.
