Abstract

The merchandise display support rod (1) has a fixing bracket (2) at one end for attachment to a vertical support and a retainer lug (3) at the other end to hold articles on the rod. A movable pusher plate (4) is spring (12) loaded forwardly to feed articles towards the end of the rod. The rod is hollow and has a slot (8) receiving a spring loaded foot attached to the plate.

Description

The present invention relates to rods

  supports for the presentation for sale of various objects.

  In stores and especially in large surfaces various objects of different sizes are presented in packages provided with hooks or perforations so that they are suspended on horizontal rods extending next to each other from

vertical supports.

  On each rod are, therefore, suspended a series of identical objects. I1 frequently happens that certain objects sell better than others so that certain rods support a large number of objects whereas on a neighboring rod, there remains one or two objects, these being, of course, in the vicinity of the support so that they are not always visible and that their meadow

hension is difficult.

  To remedy this drawback (see PCT patent application WO 98/01062), a pusher system has been proposed for pushing objects towards the free end of the rod, said pusher comprising a spiral spring having to be attached to the free end of the rod. Such an arrangement is impractical and requires rods

  two hairpin folds.

  Another patent system has been proposed in US Pat. Nos. 4,475,658, FR No. 2,570,151 and FR No. 2,527,913 in which a compression spring

  is inserted between the support and the pusher. Such a dis-

  position obliges to provide, on the one hand, for a fixation of the

  have very different weights and dimensions.

  Finally, PCT application WO 87/04328 describes an arrangement in which the rod is bent in a hairpin and supports a roller on which a tension spring passes, one end of which is fixed in the vicinity of the support and the other end to the pusher. This arrangement is complicated, requires a double cable, and generates

  many friction which hinder the sliding of objects.

  The present invention aims to remedy these various drawbacks. The support rod according to the invention is of the type comprising a rod provided at one end with means for fixing it to a vertical support and at its other end with means for retaining objects engaged on the rod, a pusher movable along the rod and elastic means tending to bring the pusher towards the retaining means, said support rod being characterized in that it is hollow and has a longitudinal slot through which extends a tab of the pusher, l the free end of the rod being closed by a plug on which is

  Thanks to this arrangement, a set is produced

  1. Support rods for the presentation and sale of various objects of the type comprising a rod (1, 15) for view, at one end, of means (2, 16) for its attachment to a vertical support and, at its other end, means (3, 19) for retaining objects engaged on the rod, a pusher (4, 23) movable along the rod and elastic means (12, 21) tending to bring the pusher towards the means of retainer (3, 19), characterized in that the rod is hollow and has a longitudinal slot through which extends a tab (7, 22) of the pusher, the free end of the rod being closed by a plug (10 , 18) on which is fixed one of the ends of the elastic means which extend in the rod, the other end of which is attached to said tab (7, 22).   2.
