Abstract

The utility, plunge type swimming pool comprises a segmented, rigid side wall (2) and a water-tight, flexible liner (4). The liner is continuously clipped to the side wall by a profiled section (16), having a channel (17) gripping the top of the side wall, and a horizontal channel (20) for receiving and holding the edge of the liner. The upper surface of the channel forms the finish beading for the pool edge. A profiled, friction -fit, blocking ring (32) may be used to lock the edge of the liner into the channel. The ring may be made of transparent material which can be used to illuminate the pool via a fibre optic system. The pool may be free standing, but preferably is located in a prepared hole in the ground.
