Abstract

The closer is designed for use with a double valve mixer tap in which a central component (15) is raised for closure and lowered for opening and has a vertical rod (16) attached to its underside which interacts with a float (19) in a cavity (9). It also has a housing (5) fixed behind a vertical wall (3) of the bath in line with its overflow hole (4), an overflow pipe (6) with an upper extension (7) having a horizontal top edge (8). The float cavity (9) is connected to the housing (5) and via a branch pipe (13) to the overflow pipe.

Description

The present invention relates to various arrangements and

  improvements to French patents 97,09901 and PCT / FR 98 01728 for the

  part of these patents which relates to bathtub mixers.

  These mixers are of the type whose opening is effected by manual insertion of the central part which, for closing, cooperates with a float whose lifting is directly linked to the rise in level

in the bathtub.

  This arrangement has a double disadvantage, namely: 1 - It requires an additional hole in the wall of the bath where

finds the overflow hole.

  2 - Closing is extremely slow.

  The present invention overcomes these drawbacks. It relates to a device which uses only the overflow hole and causes an almost instantaneous closing of the mixer as soon as the level reaches the lowest point of said

overflow hole.

  On the piston (22) is fixed, directed downwards, a vertical rod (23) whose lower end carries a valve (24) which is housed inside the duct
