Abstract

The letter filer comprises an assembly formed by a series of fins and handles (8) between which the letters are placed. A numbering guide sliding on the upper part (6) and wedged by a plug (10) comprises a rotating cylinder (7) allowing a variation of 8 different numbers. The fins are held in position by a two threaded rods passing through them and bolted (9) at each end.

Description

The present invention relates to a new device for classifying in order to

bundle

  the mail that letter carriers have to deliver daily.

  The old system being ensured by a simple inclined piece of wood called "chopping block" and the 5 free fingers of the factor as a separation. Separations between which the postman classified in ascending or descending order, according to the direction of distribution, the mail of a part of the streets arranged by box. These last representing in general more than 50 numbers we were always obliged to resume inside our "manual separations"

  work. Our fingers ensuring at most the separation by tens, but not by unit.

  The object, described below, precisely allows this work per unit.

  Formed by a succession of spacers, which are self-spacing by 2 cm and which are connected together by two threaded rods, the device takes a dimension of about 85 cm in length by 25 cm in height and width, which leaves it in addition to its lightness

  (about 7 to 8 kg) very handy both in its operation and in its storage.

  In the form of flexible vertical fins joined together at the level of the

  basically, these are the fins that make up the whole device.

  The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention:

  Figure 1 shows a fin and accessories.

  Figure 2 shows the assembly of the whole forming the invention.

  With reference to these drawings, in the lower part at the rear of the fin is formed a lug

  (1) in which a caster (2) is inserted at the load-bearing places.

  Above is a first hole (3) to pass the first threaded rod (4), the other is

located closer to the top.

  On the upper level, and thanks to the assembly of a second fin, a light is formed

  (5) allowing a number to be viewed in connection with the interval formed.

  Assembling for example 36 fins we end up with 70 intervals that can be numbered as desired: 2 4 6 8 10 etc. or I 3 5 7 9 11 etc. The principle is favored by the fact that the successive openings in fact form a pipe (6) into which one then slides another (7) of just smaller diameter, thus obtaining

  a possibility of 8 different numbering lines on the space of our 36 fins.

  Before fixing our agreed number of fins, we insert on each side a rounded handle (8) which anchors on the two threaded rods (4). The whole is fixed by

bolts (9).

  Likewise the roller which will serve as a support for future numbering is wedged in its housing by a notched button (10) at each of its ends. Which ensures its

  perfect use in line with the lights and easy grip.

  Our object then becomes only one (figure 2) and is transportable either

  hand in vertical position by one of the handles or by both in horizontal position.

  Finally, the coat once classified in the device can be easily caught by the user. In fact, thanks to the rollers and the side handles, all you have to do is push the device backwards and easily catch the mail, which has been partially freed, and

embrace it.

  1) Device for classifying the mail in any order that the user would have chosen and taking it out in a bundle, characterized in that it comprises an assembly formed by a series of fins and handles (Figure 2) between which letters are asked   methodically according to the reading of the numbering set up.   2) Device according to claim I characterized in that the numbering guide itself constitutes a part of the upper link assembly in shape   perforated cylindrical at each fin.   3) Device according to claim 2 characterized in that another cylinder (7) comes   slide into this upper part (6) as a numbering support.   4) Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in   that the assembly (Figure 2) is provided at its rear base with casters (2) and two handles (8) on each side.
