Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a packaging of the tray or tray type commonly referred to as "glued corners, that is to say having a bottom (1) and, at least, 4 side walls (2 and 3) adjoining the bottom usually connected together. by gluing, made from a blank of sheet material such as corrugated cardboard for example.

The invention is characterized by its principle of folding and locking the walls together and describes the packaging obtained, the process for obtaining it and the blank required for making it.

Glued corner packages of various designs are known with various folding processes. All these packages have the particularity of being delivered to the user folded over on themselves and already glued, their implementation by the user being obtained by pulling or pressing laterally on two future opposite vertical walls. The invention described below corresponds to this category of packaging.

On the other hand, the major drawback which the existing packages have is that they tend to return, after implementation, to the configuration they had before, that is to say, overall to fold back on themselves, which does not contribute favorably to the filling or to the stacking resistance of the stacked packages.

Known devices for overcoming this drawback use protruding parts inside the packaging, the efficiency of which is relative. Indeed, the packaging thus arranged has, in vertical section, a profile closer to the trapezoid than to the rectangle.

In addition to this drawback which concerns the user, the producer, manufacturer of the packaging, is generally forced to perform folding using hooks and propellers which penalize the adjustment times of the production machines.

The invention as described below overcomes the two previous drawbacks by two characteristics.

First characteristic: the device for locking the packaging in the open position is effected from the outside and no longer from the inside and by the insertion of the external glued tabs (4) in force in the internal walls (2).

Second characteristic: to obtain this packaging, it suffices to fold over the bottom (1) and two of the adjoining walls (2) the two other walls (3) and the adhesive tabs (4) simply by means of lateral guides. during the progression of the packaging in the machine, without the use of hooks or propellers after gluing. The folding of the glued parts (4) outwards from the joints provided (7) for this purpose at approximately 45 degrees relative to the edges (9) common to the bottom and to the walls is no longer carried out by the manufacturer of packaging before delivery but by the user when it is carried out with the same gestures as for existing packaging, that is to say by generating lateral traction on two of the future opposite vertical walls (3).

The folding of legs (4 or 5) in excess thickness on their adjoining wall by the manufacturer is no longer necessary and therefore dispenses him from using the corresponding tools such as hooks and propellers. The packaging having, before erection, a thickness of material less is then easier to stack and less bulky in logistics.

Figure 1 is one of the representations of the blank intended to obtain the packaging object of the invention such that this blank is cut before the folding gluing phase.

The zones (13) are intended to be partially or completely glued.

Figure 2 is a representation of the packaging after folding along the axes (14), as provided to the user.

Figure 3 is the representation of the packaging in side view after implementation by the user, that is to say after erection of the walls (2 and 3) and locking of the external tabs (4) in the recesses (6) side walls (2) provided with legs (5) pivoting around a hinge at 45 degrees (7) approximately from the bottom plane.

Figure 4 is a representation before folding of a package using the same principle but having a cover (10) adjoining the bottom (1), that is to say allowing to produce in the same blank packaging type tray or tray having its own cover connected to the bottom by a common side wall (11).

Figure 5 is a representation of the packaging of Figure 4 after gluing and folding as it is manufactured by the producer and delivered to the user.

More precisely, the following cutouts can be highlighted which initially allow the erection of the faces perpendicular to those which are being towed.

 These are the outer legs (4) adjoining the towed faces (3) which are fixed on the legs (5) having an articulation at about 45 degrees (7) from the edge of the base (9) and the wall (2) which has them and on which they will come back.

 They are also the recesses (6) made in these same walls (2) and the parts (8) of the outer tabs (4) which are superimposed on the corresponding cutouts (8) of the recesses (6) after passing through in force. the recesses, thus preventing any return to the initial position.

Figures 5 and 6 show a variant using the same cutting principles and the same manufacturing process, the differences are independent of the claims of the invention since it involves the splitting of the bottom into 3 parts (1, 10 and 11 ) by folding lines and the splitting of two opposite side walls (3) by adding complementary articulated legs (12) using or not the features of the invention.

Claims (4)

 CLAIMS 1) Packaging of the tray or tray type with glued corners, that is to say comprising a bottom (1) extended by at least four adjoining walls (2 and 3) connected together by gluing or other means of cohesion, characterized in that 'it has articulated parts provided with locking devices (8) from the outside of the package in the open position allowing the insertion of the outermost tabs (4) in the most internal adjacent walls (2). 2) A method of manufacturing the packaging according to claim 1 characterized in that the preceding characteristics are obtained by simply folding two of the side walls (3) and their adjoining legs (4) on the bottom (1) and its adjoining parts (2) after gluing (13), without tools of the hook or propeller type. 3) Blank for obtaining the packaging according to claim 1 characterized by its cutouts before folding or implementation allowing the erection of the non-towed side faces and the locking of the walls together at the end of travel by means of a combination of approximately 45 degree folding joints, recesses in the innermost walls and partial overlapping of these inner walls with the outermost legs. 4) Blank for obtaining a variant of the packaging of claim 1, the cover (10) and the bottom (1) are adjoining and connected by a common wall (11) characterized in that the cutting principles and the manufacturing process are identical, only the number of faces proving to be higher during use.
