Abstract

Use of an organic chemical, specifically polyvinylpyrrolidone (povidone), of mol. wt. 10000 to over 2800000, (which may be crosslinked), in reducing or eliminating variations in waist size and in diminishing the effect of constipation resulting from taking activated charcoal or clay, is new.

Description

 The invention relates to the use of an organic chemical compound, to reduce or eliminate variations in the waist during the day.

 The invention also relates to a reduction in the constipating effect of certain chemical compounds.

 Eating habits and lifestyles in industrial countries favor physiological imbalances and imbalances.

 The present inventor was able to observe that these disorders had as a consequence for the subjects concerned, and more particularly for urban women or men, a variation in waist size during the day, and the consequences of which are a feeling of compression in the clothing, skirts or pants.

 The present inventor has been able to observe that certain agents favorable to the reduction of the waist circumference produce an undesirable constipating effect.

 The object of the present invention is therefore to provide solutions which make it possible to reduce or eliminate variations in the waist size, while eliminating the effects in question.

 The invention provides a new solution, technically reliable, satisfactory on an industrial scale, in the field of the production of either comfort products, or dietary supplements, or food products which do not favor variations in waist size.

 The interest of this new solution still lies in the fact that it is completely harmless to the body.

 Thus, according to a first aspect, the invention relates to the use of a chemical agent, of organic origin, to reduce the effects of variation of the waist, linked to the lifestyle and eating habits of the population in the industrialized countries.

 According to a second aspect, the invention also relates to the use of a chemical agent, of organic origin, to reduce the constipation effect of certain components such as clay.

 According to another advantageous embodiment, the agent is present in the form of a separate composition to be absorbed separately from food.

 According to another advantageous embodiment, the above-mentioned agent is incorporated directly into one or more foods.

 The agent can be formulated in different gallenic forms. Such gallenic forms and their methods of preparation are familiar to those skilled in the art.

 According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the concentration of the above-mentioned agent is between a homeopathic concentration and 100% by weight / volume.

 According to another embodiment, the agent in question is a polyvinylpyrrolidone. The term polyvinylpyrrolidone includes all polyvinylpyrrolidones in particular polyvinylpyrrolidones having a molecular weight of 10,000 to 2.8 million. Such polyvinylpyrrolidones are available, in particular from GAF, an American company, under the name PVP K 15, K30, K90, K 120.

 According to another embodiment, the agent in question, that is to say preferably PVP, can be formulated as a mixture with another compound chosen from the group consisting of an activated carbon, a clay, preferably a montmorillonite, kaolinite, attapulgite, sepiolite, smectite and bentonite clay. It has been found that the preparations containing PVP in combination with one or more active compounds mentioned above produce quite satisfactory effects while reducing the cost price.

 PVP is already used in food compositions as an additive with the technological function of firming, stabilizing (INS 1201).

 According to the patent of the same applicant registered with INTI under the number 9603276, PVP can be used as a mixture in food compositions, to reduce or eliminate the side effects linked to the absorption of sweetening agents. These effects are by example electrolyte disorder, diarrhea, feeling of digestive twist.

PVP has also been used in therapy and has received marketing authorizations as a medicine, particularly in the case of enterogastric diseases. We find in particular the drug known in
France under the AMM numbers 307 529.2 and 314 449.0.

In this enterogastric area, there are many other drugs based on proton pump inhibitors, prostaglandins, topical anti-ulcers, locally acting antacids. These drugs can also include clay, activated charcoal, polyvinylpyrrolidone, silicones and many other available molecules. These drugs are found in

 On the other hand, in the context of the present invention, the aim is to develop a comfort product. The objective is to treat mainly the food bowl so that it does not cause disorders and imbalances increasing the variation of the waist.

 In the context of the present invention, the aim is also to reduce the constipating effects of other agents, such as clays, which have already been used in the field of digestive disorders.

 The invention also covers a composition, such as food composition, drink, characterized in that it contains a chemical agent of organic origin, preferably polyvinylpyrrolidone in an amount effective to reduce or eliminate variations in the waist.

 According to another aspect, the invention relates to a composition such as food composition, drink, characterized in that it contains a chemical agent of organic origin, preferably polyvinylpyrrolidone, in combination with another agent, in particular clay, in an amount effective to decrease or eliminate variations in waist and constipation related to the other agent.

EXAMPLE 1
PVP formulated in different dosage forms
PVP is the only active component, formulated into tablets, capsules or granules.

a) Case of capsules
Capsules are prepared in a conventional manner which contain approximately 0.1 g per polyvinylpyrrolidone capsule, for example PVP K 30 or PVP K 90, commercially available from GAFFE, USA, which is in powder form. The composition of the capsule is conventional and can, for example, be made of gelatin.

 We can absorb up to 6 capsules per day, before or after the main meals, so as to provide 0.3 to 0.6 g per day of polyvinylpyrrolidone whose presence in the body will reduce or eliminate the variations in waist, caused by eating habits.

b) Case of tablets
In this case, the polyvinylpyrrolidone, can be mixed with a conventional excipient in the powder state, and then compressed into tablets.

c) Incorporation into drinking water
PVP can be added directly to drinking water. 0.5 g of PVP K30, available from GANT), USA, can be mixed with 1 liter of mineral water before being bottled.

d) Chewing gum composition
In a conventional chewing gum composition, 0.5 g of PVP and 0.2 g of montmorillonite clay will be added per 100 g of chewing paste.

EXAMPLE 3
PVP formulated in preparation with montmorillonite clay
Tablets containing 30 mg of PVP and 50 mg of montmorillonite with an average particle size of the order of 20 μm are produced according to the invention, and tablets containing 300 mg of montmorillonite. Placebos are produced by replacing the aforementioned agents with the compression agent.

GROUP B: constipation problems, especially the first week
GROUP C: no particular problem
It is thus found that the use of PVP associated with montmorillonite according to the present invention develops a synergy favoring the decrease in the variation of the waist circumference after meals. In addition, it solves the problem of constipation encountered with clay.

EXAMPLE 4 Chewing gum containing PVP
The test is carried out on two groups, a control group A, consuming normal chewing gum, and a group B which consumes chewing gum supplemented with PVP K30 at a concentration of 0.7 g per 100 g of chewing paste. .

The intake is one chewing gum after each meal.

The test is carried out according to the following procedure:
Week 1 day 1: group A: feelings of compression after meals
group B: nothing to report day 2: witness A: abdominal swelling after meals
